1 2016 Shave to Save Shavee Manual 15 Years and Cutting! Thank You for participating in this year s Shave to Save. This event would not be possible without dedicated shavees like you. The Shavee Manual is meant to provide you with valuable information about your role as a shavee, important dates and fundraising ideas to help get you started. As a shavee, your head will be shaved at the Shave to Save Benefit & Auction on Friday, April 15, 2016 with other community and corporate leaders as a show of support to individuals fighting cancer. The funds you collect during your campaign benefit the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Kansas City, which provides a safe home base to families and individuals while they are going through cancer treatments. The American Cancer Society s Hope Lodge at Quality Hill remains the only free, temporary housing facility in the Kansas City area for patients battling cancer. Medical bills, loss of income and the expense of hotel accommodations and dining out take a financial and emotional toll when patients spend days, weeks, even months away from home. The Hope Lodge has served over 12,000 patients and their caregivers since its doors opened in Shavee Goals & Responsibilities As a shavee, your individual goal is to raise $5,000. Corporate sponsorships, fundraising activities and donations from family and friends count toward your individual goal. Up to $500 of every $5,000 raised can be in auction items that you secure for the auction. Donations on your behalf will be accepted via mail or online at shavetosave.org. Shavees will receive two complimentary tickets if they reach their $5,000 goal to the Shave to Save Benefit. Shavees and their first swipers do not require tickets. All shavees that meet or exceed their $5,000 goal will have their head shaved on the main stage as a part of the Shave to Save Benefit & Auction evening program on April 15, As a shavee, your responsibilities include: Agreeing to have your head shaved in support of individuals battling cancer and raise $5,000 Attending the Shavee Meet & Greet in January and get your photo taken for the program guide Attending the Shave to Save Benefit & Auction on April 15, 2016 Communicating with your Shavee Committee chairs throughout the process of your campaign
