4 ClusterFY overall Objective To improve regional/national policy instruments seeking to intensify clusterization processes (especially in KETs related sectors), fostering clusters and business networks interregional cooperation, integration into innovative value chains and better employment for the implementation of S3 4

5 ClusterFY sub-objectives to create the favourable conditions in order to boost the regional/national KETs related networks and cluster development as an important part of RIS3 and innovation ecosystem to intensify clusters and business networks collaboration across borders and sectorial boundaries exploiting KETs and enhance interregional cooperation in fields of strategic interest to increase the internationalisation of clusters and business networks and their integration into innovative value chains 5

6 ClusterFY approach Explore and analyse partners national andregional innovation and cluster policies and programmes related to 3 components: Cluster/Busines networks KETs Internationalisation 6

7 KETs selected by EC: nanotechnology micro- and nanoelectronics, incl. semiconductors advanced materials photonics industrial biotechnology advanced manufacturing systems Cross-cutting KETs development for dual use products, services and technologies (civilian and military purposes) KETs play an important role in the research, innovation and cluster strategies of many industries 7
