2 ABOUT THE FESTIVAL As Cambodia works towards the goal of becoming a middle-income country, we face the challenge of inadequate human resources in the STEM professions. To address this challenge, our community must create solutions in multiple areas multiple areas. A fundamental problem is the low levels of awareness among youth about what STEM means and how STEM careers can help them build their future. The Cambodian Science Engineering Festival works to inspire youth to consider careers in the STEM fields and to build a national awareness of the importance of STEM. We know that capitalizing on our natural curiosity of the world, is the best way to generate a lifelong interest in science. The Cambodian Science Engineering Festival does just that; presenting STEM in a fresh, accessible and fun atmosphere which allows young people to view STEM as approachable and exciting. The 1st Cambodian Science Engineering Festival, which took place in March of 2015, had over 10,000 visitors and helped to shape the current youth dialogue about STEM in Cambodia. The 2016 festival will be even bigger and better and will provide your organization the chance to help shape the future of human resources in Cambodia. The 2016 Cambodia Science Engineering Festival is being organized by a group of unpaid volunteers in cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and sponsors like you! THE PROGRAM THE FESTIVAL The 2nd Cambodia Science Engineering Festival will build on the success of the inaugural event in March, This event will feature a large exhibition space featuring local and international businesses, NGOs, educational organizations and governments. Throughout this space, many interactive hand-on activity stations will engage visitors with neat challenges that teach STEM concepts in a fun and accessible way. A large stage will feature entertainment performances for musicians and science shows.
