A programme dedicated to research training, mobility and career development for researchers (and this is reflected in the evaluation criteria!).

13 Marie Curie actions is about: Interaction between different sectors, European countries, and between Europe and the rest of the world. Support for both institutional partnerships and individual fellowships. Proposals from all areas of scientific and technological research are welcome. The funding is predominantly directed towards salary costs.

14 Why do I have to go abroad as a researcher? 0.5% of the accumulated global knowledge production is aggregated in Norway * A period of mobility is not just an asset to your CV, it is more frequently required when applying for grants, funding and jobs. You get contacts, networks, access to infrastructures etc. at an early stage. Start the application process early Seek advice from colleagues, supervisors, and NCP Follow the structure in the Guide for Applicants Come up with the grand ideas in the start- make the evaluator interested Give the evaluator arguments to choose you and your project Be positive, yet balanced. No one rewards modesty Allow for arguments being discussed repeatedly from different angles Remember the objectives of the action

20 Allowances to the researchers (fellowships) Living allowance (including all mandatory deductions) basic rate submitted to country-specific coefficient (NO:125.6, UK:120.3, FR:115.8, DE:98.4, ES: 99.4, EL:94.2,,US:101.3, CA:78.9, MX: 65.3). These are Work Programme 2011 figures. Experience level Employment contract ( /year) ESR: less than 4 years exp. 38,000 ER with up to 10 years exp. 58,500 ER with >10 years exp. 87,500 Additionally a monthly household allowance is provided. The host receives some funding for research and/or networking costs, management and overhead. This may vary from action to action, and WP versions, so always consult the approved work programme.
