2 Event Summary Dear Colleagues and Partners, We would like to thank all our speakers, participants, sponsors, exhibitors and all supporting organizations who have contributed to the great success of our 1st edition of AHIMA World Congress Middle East Healthcare Information Summit that was held on October, 2017 at Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE and without you our event wouldn t have been possible. This summit builds on a legacy of six (6) years of successful HIM Congress events and it will enable the launch of an era in this region in which the importance of reliable, trustworthy data and information are seen as basic to safe, quality care for individuals, and essential to improving the health of populations. The Scientific and Organizing Committees have worked together to bring to you an event that offers meaningful and timely professional development in an effective sharing and learning format. This event has been crafted specifically to help prepare health information professionals for the changing demands in healthcare delivery, and data and information capture, use, processing, sharing and reporting. The event was the biggest yet in Abu Dhabi and the region signifies the importance of Health Information within the medical community. Prominent national and international speakers and leading experts in the field of HIM provided comprehensive, up-to-date research-based answers to the most frequent questions that arise with an opportunity to learn about global and regional challenges in health information, and solutions for addressing them. The CME accredited program received its highest attendance to the date and the delegates feedback was extremely positive. Special thanks to the organizing and the scientific committee for their continued support and commitment to delivering high-quality education program to the region. Also our appreciation goes to the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority for their extraordinary support to this worthwhile program.
