1 Partner with Metropolitan School of the Arts: Become an Annual Sponsor Metropolitan School of the Arts is pleased to offer sponsorships to enhance your business objectives. Families of our more than 800 students, and the patrons of our performances support businesses that sponsor MSA. Sponsors receive visibility at our five annual shows, on our website, and benefit from our local media appearances and communications to our growing database of 30,000. Sponsors can also partner on special events and promotions. ABOUT MSA MSA provides a world-class arts training and performance program for the community, as well as an innovative private secondary school, The Academy at MSA (grades 7-12) designed to support students who are passionate about the arts and a high-quality academic education. We share one mission -- to change the world by launching students who reach their fullest potential as artists, innovators, and citizens. Our goals for our students are to inspire a passion for the arts, instill creative confidence and teach the skills they need to become innovators of the future. WHY SPONSOR MSA? Demonstrate Community Support Committing to the arts lets people inside and outside your business know that you value (and promote) innovative thinking and a creative culture. Attendees at nonprofit arts events spend an average of $31.47 per person nationally ($27.55 in Fairfax County), per event, beyond the cost of admission on items such as meals, snacks, souveneirs, parking, etc. Attendees who live outside the county in which the arts event takes place SPEND EVEN MORE as their local counterparts ($37.45 vs. $25.66) valuable revenue for local businesses and the community. (Americans for the Arts, 2017, AEP5 Study )
2 The arts create jobs and produce tax revenue. A strong arts sector is an economic asset that stimulates business activity, attracts tourism revenue and retains a high-quality work force. The arts have been shown to be a successful and sustainable strategy for revitalizing rural areas, inner cities and populations struggling with poverty. (National Assembly of State Arts Agencies) The arts cultivate young imaginations and facilitate success in school, enhancing students academic achievement in multiple subject areas. They provide the critical thinking, communications and innovation skills essential to a productive 21st-century work force. (National Assembly of State Arts Agencies) The arts foster physical, mental and emotional health, aiding recovery processes and contributing to well-being. The arts can be effective tools for achieving and maintaining wellness for aging adults and people suffering from trauma, including military combat personnel and veterans. (National Assembly of State Arts Agencies) 48% of Americans with interest in arts and culture say they hold a Higher Trust in companies that sponsor arts events compared to those who do not. (Performance Research, Independent Study on Sponsorships, 2013.) Increase Employee Engagement and Quality of Life By partnering with MSA as one of our sponsors, we will work with you to offer volunteer opportunities to your employees, attend MSA s performances, and inspire your employees to use their best skills and develop new ones. Employees who participate in volunteer activities are more likely to be proud, loyal and satisfied employees. (Deloitte Volunteer Impact Research) The arts create a welcoming sense of place and a desirable quality of life. The arts also support a strong democracy, engaging citizens in civic discourse, providing forums for important issues and encouraging collective problem solving. (National Assembly of State Arts Agencies) 2
