16 Emergency Management The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Bureau of Food Distribution, has primary responsibility for all Emergency Support Function 11 (ESF11) activities. The purpose of ESF11 is to: - identify food, water, and ice needs in the aftermath of a disaster or emergency; - obtain these resources; - and transport them to the impact area. Food supplies obtained and distributed by ESF11 are dispensed to disaster survivors through the agencies of ESF6 (Mass Care). 16

20 USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Pilot Florida has submitted an application to USDA for participation in the Pilot Project for Procurement of Unprocessed Fresh Fruit and Vegetables If selected to participate, Florida school districts would have the ability to utilize part of their USDA Foods allocation toward the purchase of Florida grown, fresh fruits and vegetables State selections will be completed in November 2014 and a program start date of January

21 Commodity Supplemental Food Program FDACS has submitted to USDA a state plan for the Operation and Administration of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) CSFP works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. FDACS has requested a caseload allocation of 75,000 households If funding is allocated by USDA for participation in Florida, the following counties would be a part of the initial pilot program Miami-Dade Broward Orange Hillsborough Lee Collier 21
