2 Page 2 Application Information and Eligibility The Fogelberg Studio Fellowship Program is designed to provide emerging ceramic artists an opportunity to be in residence for one year at the Northern Clay Center, where they can develop their own work as well as exchange ideas and knowledge with other ceramic artists. In addition, this award provides professional opportunities teaching ceramics in educational settings. Two studio fellowships will be awarded in 2015, valued at $3,000 each. Fellowship recipients share a large, private, fully furnished studio space (measuring 16 x 11 ) from September 1, 2015 through August 31, In addition to the work space, each fellowship includes materials and a firing stipend. Recipients work will also be included in a group exhibition featuring several artists, which will take place in January of Artists are required to create approximately 150 vessels for Soup It Up, an annual fundraiser that supports a variety of educational and youth programs throughout the Twin Cities, including this particular program. The Fogelberg Studio Fellowship is made possible by the generous support of an anonymous donor, who is an avid collector and maker of pots. It is intended to nurture the creative expression of aspiring artists. Eligibility Eligibility is restricted to clay artists who have completed all formal undergraduate academic training by the start of the grant period (September 1, 2015), who are not currently enrolled full or part-time in a degree-granting institution (including BA, MFA, or a teaching certification program), and who are not employed full-time as a ceramics teacher at the college level. You CAN APPLY for all, but CANNOT RECEIVE any combination, of the Fogelberg Fellowship, the Anonymous Potter Studio Fellowship, NCC s Education Technician/Resident Artist position, and the Warren MacKenzie Advancement Award. Current Fogelberg Fellows cannot apply again until three years after the date of their award. (A 2014 fellowship recipient cannot apply again until the 2017 grant cycle.) Schedule The application deadline for 2015 awards is Friday, April 24, 2015, by 12 pm. All applications must be received at Northern Clay Center via our online form or in hard copy, along with the required digital images, by this day and time. This is now a postmark deadline. Faxed, ed, or late applications will not be accepted. Application Process Applications must include a project proposal explaining the intended focus and growth of their work during the residency year. Applicants must describe the difference this fellowship will make in their development as professional artists. Selection and Notification Application materials will be reviewed by a three-member panel, who will select the recipients on the basis of perceived merit. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process in late May Artists must be in residence at NCC between September 1, 2015 through August 31, Due to the timing of this particular grant program and the availability of the studio space, these dates are non-negotiable. (Discs will not be returned.) The image list must include artist name, date of work, dimensions of work, medium, and image orientation. Digital images must be saved as JPEG s at 96 dpi.
