2 A PROGRAM OF QF WE ARE QUARTERLY FORUM For emerging leaders in Colorado, we are the organization dedicated to bringing together the best and brightest from different backgrounds, sectors, and interests. We give them a uniquely well-rounded view of our state and empower them with an unprecedented platform for networking, learning, and following their passions as they create Colorado s future. Our ultimate purpose is to grow the next generation of leaders for the good of our state. COLORADO GOVERNORS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Working at the intersection of the public, private, and nonprofit communities, this program engages leaders in applying their skills across sectors. Governor John Hickenlooper was the catalyst behind this fellowship program, which engages private and nonprofit sector leaders in an eight-month program on state government and public policy. This program is executed in partnership with the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs and the Colorado Business Roundtable. The Governors Fellowship Program will enlist our state s best and brightest into making a lasting difference in the future of our state. JOHN HICKENLOOPER (D), COLORADO GOVERNOR

THE COLORADO GOVERNORS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN 2016 TO INSPIRE AND PREPARE THE BUSINESS AND NONPROFIT LEADERS OF COLORADO TO CONSIDER GIVING BACK THROUGH PUBLIC SERVICE. 5 THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM AN EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAM 1 LAUNCH RECEPTION HOSTED BY ALL FIVE LIVING GOVERNORS AT THE GOVERNOR S RESIDENCE 2 EXPOSURE EXPERIENCE EDUCATION LUNCHES WITH THE CURRENT GOVERNOR SHADOW SESSIONS WITH SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS DYNAMIC CONVERSATIONS WITH RENOWNED SPEAKERS, INCLUDING CABINET MEMBERS, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CEOS APPLIED CASE STUDIES MONTHLY EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS (SEPTEMBER NOVEMBER & JANUARY APRIL) INSTRUCTION BY UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROFESSORS AND VISITING ACADEMICS 3 CIVIC INTENSATHON FELLOWS SOLVE A REAL-TIME PUBLIC POLICY CHALLENGE IN A HACKATHON SETTING

6 PURPOSE Private sector executives and nonprofit leaders can and need to contribute to solving the state s most challenging issues, while leading opportunities for growth and innovation and contributing to public leadership with dynamism, innovation and experiences complimentary to traditional government leaders. JOURNEY OF CIVIC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PERSONAL GROWTH ENRICHES PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECTOR LEADERS Government is only as good as who is in it. DR. 7 THE FELLOWS CANDIDATES ARE MID-CAREER EXECUTIVES WHO EXHIBIT INITIATIVE AMBITION CURIOSITY PROFESSIONAL ABOVE ALL SUCCESS AND & LEADERSHIP FELLOWS MUST SELECTION PROCESS DEMONSTRATE PROFESSIONAL RENOWN BE ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH VOLUNTEERISM AND BOARD MEMBERSHIP HOLD PEER COMMENDATIONS AND ENDORSEMENTS BE AGES THE QF COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION WILL ACCEPT NOMINATIONS OR INVITE REFERRED CANDIDATES FROM THE PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECTORS ALL NOMINATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL FROM THE GOVERNOR We seek change makers who are interested in applying their leadership skills in government, public sector initiatives and community engagement. This highly selective process will nominate leaders who want to bring their best ideas to Colorado, affect change and make an enduring difference. 10 PARTNERS Engaging all sectors business, nonprofit and government into state work is really important. The Governors Fellowship Program has vast potential to create more engaged and informed future state leaders.
