Understanding CFT s Funding Sources
Donor-Driven Grantmaking Donor- Advised Designated Scholarship Agency Donor makes ongoing recommendations about grants (donations) to any public charity Donor establishes fund for a specific nonprofit organization or charitable purpose Donor establishes the fund for awarding educational support to individuals Nonprofit organization establishes a fund for itself to outsource the financial management of its assets
Powered by CFT: Foundation s Discretion Caruth Foundation Field of Interest Mr. Caruth left his money to support: 1) public safety, 2) education, and 3) health and medical research Grantmaking currently closed for strategy renovation. CFT uses assets to meet charitable needs in a specific area (e.g. Fund for Animals) Discretionary Funds left by donors without restrictions for highest and best use across the community.
What else does CFT have to offer? (before we dive into the nitty-gritty of our grantmaking)
North Texas Giving Day 2018 Kickoff Registration April 23 NTGD Registration Opens May 30 Kickoffs run from May 30 to June 7
CFT services for nonprofits 1. Nonprofit Agency Funds: Many nonprofits create funds at CFT because our oversight and experience lessens the burden on nonprofit boards to manage market fluctuations and investment managers. 2. Other Services: Through CFT, nonprofits often can access a broader range of investment alternatives than they could on their own for their agency reserve or endowment: Liquidate valuable complex assets from donors for org support Receive and manage large gift or estate gift that can provide perpetual support Assist with deferred giving vehicles such as charitable remainder trusts Provide timely reports and online fund access 24/7 Host site visits for CFT fund holders
CFT services to support volunteer needs CFT4B ( works with small to mid sized companies and facilitates community engagement and business philanthropy. Plug N Plays: Monthly Volunteer Events Custom Volunteer Projects: Ongoing Freedom Day: September 11 and 15, 2018 Drives Holiday Volunteer/Needs Curated List
