2 a b o u t u s THE NETWORK OF EMPOWERED WOMEN (NEW) is a studentrun organization formed by female Bachelor of Commerce students at the Alberta School of Business. The group s purpose is to connect undergraduate students with successful female business professionals as a means of fostering meaningful networks and connections that will inspire young women to pursue any path that they choose for their futures. This is achieved primarily through our annual national conference: the Network of Empowered Women Business Conference. The first NEW Business Conference took place in January 2013 at the renowned Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta. Built around the development of networks and mentorships within the business world and beyond, the NEW Conference was very well- received by all attendees. This year s conference will be held at the same venue between the dates of January 21 and 24, Here, we will welcome 100 carefully selected delegates from universities across the country during a four-day event of empowerment and inspiration. The conference is a unique opportunity for corporations to showcase what they have to offer our exceptional undergraduate student attendees, not only in terms of products and services, but also in regards to employment opportunities. It is an excellent opportunity to promote leadership and mentorship programs to the 100 ambitious students attending, many of whom are nearing graduation and in a position of making career decisions. Our sponsors are invited to engage in academic and non-academic workshops, a case competition, keynote speeches, networking sessions for oneon-one interaction with student delegates, and exposure in our promotional materials and on our social media network and more! DELEGATES Our conference will host 100 undergraduate students from across Canada. All delegates will undergo an application process to ensure that we are attracting those who are driven, dynamic and wellrounded: students who exemplify an empowered individual in training. The student delegates attending from various universities across Canada are ambassadors that represent larger academic groups. They are tasked with sharing the conference and your company with their colleagues after returning to their university campuses. This conference is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our corporate partners to inspire and shape these driven students and future business leaders.
