2 Adopt an Entrepreneur Raise money by finding donors who will adopt a student, professor, graduate student, or a course. Trading Places Ask faculty members who teach the same course at different schools to trade places for two weeks to get a different perspective. Creative Comedy Ask students to come up with a short standup comedy routine, demonstrating that there is humor - and opportunityin everything. Cross-Campus Collaboration Promote interaction between MBA students and engineering students with a speaker series and business plan competition.

3 Imbedded Include entrepreneurship education and culture in every course, so that there is no need for an entrepreneurship center. Innovation to Exploitation Pick 100 of the best post doctoral fellows. Train them in entrepreneurship and stand back! Just Do It Get students involved in structured internships and projects with entrepreneurial companies. Alumni Network Set up a network for alumni so that they can share their successes and challenges, and stay connected to the school.

4 Sharing Time Find ways for two or more institutions to develop and teach courses together. Virtual Collaboration Create a web-based collaboration space for entrepreneurship educators with special interest clusters. Tools Create a course on entrepreneurship taught by faculty from different disciplines. Workshops Offer entrepreneurship workshops to Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows, since they are likely to develop valuable IP.

5 The More the Merrier Develop a multi-university entrepreneurship center that serves the students and faculty of all the institutions, leveraging the strengths of each. Student Exchange Set up an exchange program for students so that they can get exposure to regional differences in the entrepreneurial culture. Boot Camp Set up a boot camp on entrepreneurship for the university community which is available to all who are interested. Consulting Projects Provide opportunities for students to get involved with extracurricular consulting projects for local companies.

6 Campus Wide Center Create a center for the entire university with resources for students, faculty, and staff Seminars for Faculty Teach faculty throughout the university about entrepreneurship to better prepare them to evaluate the market potential of their research. Tap into the Tech Transfer Office Use the university technology transfer office as a source for case studies and class projects. Nights at the Roundtable Set up roundtable discussions between students and successful entrepreneurs.

7 The Art of Develop entrepreneurship centers in the art and music departments so that these students learn the art of entrepreneurship. Scientists Get Down to Business Set up entrepreneurship programs in traditional science departments so that students get exposure to entrepreneurship early in their education. Simulation Games Use new venture simulation games in the classroom. Social Encourage engineers and scientists to get involved in social entrepreneurship or non-profits.

8 Hire a Director Hire a full-time director to manage the operations of the entrepreneurship center. Inter-Session Build an inter-session course that introduces students to entrepreneurship. Capstone Course Create a capstone course that integrates product design and business plans for commercializing the product/business. Invention Challenge Run a campus-wide competition for the best inventions, designed to stimulate opportunity evaluation and innovation.

10 Visiting Scholars Invite top professors to your campus to jumpstart the interest in hightechnology entrepreneurship research and education. Live it, Breathe It Set up a dorm for students interested in entrepreneurship so that they can be totally immersed in the culture. Creativity Rules Offer courses that stimulate creativity and innovation. Field Trips Take students on field trips to different business settings: R&D labs, manufacturing facilities, and corporate offices.

11 Sister Centers Pick another school to be your sister center in another part of the country, or the world. Share ideas, exchange students and faculty. Opportunity Assessment Set up a program in which students evaluate the business and technical feasibility of research from corporate labs. Cross-University Collaboration Build a course with teams of students from different universities to foster cross-cultural collaboration. Mini Venture Fund Set up a small competitive seed fund for students who are trying to launch a new venture.

12 Teach and Tech Transfer Combine the educational entrepreneurship center with the technology transfer office. Student-run Hatchery Let the students run an incubator that provides resources for student and faculty entrepreneurs. Watch One, Do One, Teach One Create a work study program in which students learn about entrepreneurship, work at a start-up, and then present a case to the entire class. On-Call Entrepreneurs Have a team of entrepreneurs who are available to drop into a technical team to provide guidance for new ventures.

13 Center of the World Make your center visible across campus to students, faculty and administrators. Recognition will bring support in many forms. A Year Abroad Students spend a year doing an internship and taking courses at a partner university in a different country. Food for Thought Set up a dinner series in which students get to break bread with local entrepreneurs.

14 Follow the Leader Identify a natural charismatic leader on campus who can inspire support for a new entrepreneurship center. Mentor Me, Please Set up a formal mentorship program in which students are paired with experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Failure Analysis Design a course which focuses on business failures with the goal of exploring why each failed and how it was resolved. Teach the Teachers Educate the professors about entrepreneurship so that they can share their insights with their students in different disciplines.
