1 + NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LA PORTE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the La Porte Independent School District will be called to order on the 24th day of JULY 2008 at 6:00 pm, to conduct the business of the meeting as listed in this Agenda. The meeting will be held in the Board Room of the Administration Building, 1002 San Jacinto St., La Porte, Texas. Such a meeting is a REGULAR BOARD MEETING. Call to Order CALL TO ORDER and an announcement by the president that a notice of the meeting has been posted in a manner required by law, and that a quorum is present. II. Closed Meeting Closed meeting will be held for the purposes authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Section et seq. concerning any and all purposes permitted by the Act, including but not limited to the following sections and purposes: Texas Government Code Sections: For the purpose of discussing the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of

Review purchase and sale agreement for the purchase of land and related actions For the purpose of considering the appointment, employment, resignation, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee. 1. Consider hiring and accepting resignations of professional and non-professional personnel. 2. Consider renewals, non-renewals and terminations of contracts for professional and non-professional personnel. III. Reconvene from closed meeting 7:00 PM IV. Pledge & Invocation A. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE to the United States and Texas Flags. B. INVOCATION will be given by Mr. Dan Eubank, principal at Reid Elementary. V. Public Comments The Board will now hear those who wish to make comments and who have completed and returned the Public Comment Participation Request. This section will be conducted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act and Board Policy. Complaints and concerns, for which other resolution channels are provided, shall be directed through those channels. VI. New Business A. CONSENT CALENDAR ACTION 1.
