That s 2 years worth of amazing pools, spas, landscaping and water features that you ve built, serviced, and rehabbed and we want to see it! Join us for the Penn Jersey Design Awards on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza King of Prussia, PA During our cocktail hour, attendees are encouraged to walk around and view the numerous entries of the pools, hot tubs and water features built and serviced by our members. Prior to dinner there s an opportunity to vote for the designs in each category that you think deserve recognition. As always, we re mixing it up here at Penn Jersey! We ve added a new category, opened it up to not only the builders but the designers that make these beautiful pools, spas and landscaping happen. Perhaps you landscaped one of your creations a year or two ago, most the plants have filled in and the bushes have grown a bit. Take those photos, enter it! Each company will also receive recognition in the slide show at the event and our electronic publications, as well as on our web site. The Penn Jersey Design Awards is the largest event the Chapter hosts and has proven to be extremely successful the past 14 years with more than 175 attendees per year! Why would you want to miss this? The evening is full of fun, prizes, great food and some surprises! Please read them carefully and don t hesitate to reach out with any questions Important Reminders: Entries in all classes must be completed between January 1, 2011 and October 31, 2016 to be eligible. Please send high resolution, no changes will be made to submitted files. You can re-enter any past entry as long as it did not win in any category. Entries into NESPA design awards may also use the same picture as a Penn Jersey entry. 6 Award of Technical Merit A special award open to all members of Penn Jersey Pool & Spa Association including owners, builders, designers, architects, and engineers, consultants, landscape architects. Submissions shall include a short description explaining the complexities of the building, location or the actual pool/spa itself. 5.

8 2016 Award of Technical Merit The Award of Technical Merit is a special award open to all members of Penn Jersey Pool & Spa Association (PJ) including owners, builders, designers, architects, engineers, consultants, landscape architects, etc. This is not a competition! Each project will be judged on its own merits. Multiple awards may be granted at the discretion of the jury. Submissions will be judged by giving consideration to the entire complex with the swimming pool as the central focus and will be based on design ingenuity and aesthetics only. No consideration will be given to the mechanical systems or any other hidden equipment. The projects must have been built and put into operation subsequent to January 1, There are two categories, single family residential and commercial. Commercial includes any project that is not for single family residential. The judging will be done by a jury of three professionals. The jury is totally unbiased and will have no knowledge of anyone associated with any of the submitted projects. Projects submitted for this award may be submitted by the same members to any other category of the 2016 Design Awards competition. Submissions shall include a short description of the project in 75 words or less explaining the complexities of the building, location or the actual pool/spa itself, a plan with the description and photographs. Photographs will include: (2) Before photos; (2) After photos and (2) progress photos are optional. These entries will be showcased on 18 x24 boards at the Design Awards on November 19. No indication of the names of the project or the submitters shall show on the boards. An identifying number will be assigned to each submission and the winners will be announced and presented their award at the conclusion of the banquet. Projects shall be submitted to the Penn Jersey office physically, electronically on a CD or flash drive. Submissions are due no later than October 21,

11 2016 Penn Jersey Pool & Spa Outstanding Achievement Award Service Competition This award is to recognize/reward Penn Jersey members who exemplify the best in customer service and customer relations. Complete entry form and submit with fee of $70 to Penn Jersey office by September 16, 2016 Attached is a sample letter that we invite you to use to request your customer s cooperation. This is to submit notify them that you ve submitted their name and would like them to return the letter to Penn Jersey by October 14, 2016 JUDGING Each entrant must select (4) customers and (4) optional who will be sent a form/ to rate its company in 6 categories of service: 1. The company s performance when servicing the customer s pool 2. The response time to any problems that may have occurred with the customer s pool 3. The company s service department 4. The company s employees that service the customer s pool (friendliness, appearance, communication, etc) 5. If the customer would recommend the company to a friend or neighbor 6. The overall performance of the company in the past year. The company will be required to select the customers they wish to use based on the entry form requirements. Penn Jersey will send the judging form to 5 of the customers provided by the company. Scores will be tabulated when forms are returned or online survey is filled out. If we don t hear from some of the 5 names, we will choose the optional names to make up 5 customers. 8.
