With your help and support we can continue to improve healthcare for Cambodia s children! Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) is a non-profit paediatric healthcare organisation with a mission of improving healthcare for Cambodia s children. Over the past twenty years AHC has grown from a small hospital to a well-established and credible healthcare organisation. AHC provides high quality, compassionate healthcare to thousands of children at no cost to the patient or their family and influences child health nationally and on an international level. The funds raised through your hard work and efforts are carefully used to help us provide holistic medical care to approx. 500 patients every day 365 days a year, improve our daily operations and implement programmes within the community that keep AHC at the forefront of paediatric healthcare. I have been part of the Get Active weekend for the last two years and it s become an annual highlight. Running a half marathon through the Temples of Angkor is a once in a lifetime experience but it is even better when I can make my miles count and support such a great cause. I am looking forward to this year s race and hopefully a new PB! Dr. Peter Wild, Singapore Get Active with us on Sunday 2 nd December Whether you want to set a Half Marathon personal best or enjoy a fun run in the sun with your family there is something for everyone this December! Sign up for the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon, 10 km race or 3 km family fun run! 8 Angkor Hospital for Children Fundraising Pack 8/13 6 easy steps to raise $ 1000 Simple tips to help you get started on your fundraising journey $ 50 Get the ball rolling and prove your commitment donate to yourself. If you re asking your friends, family, and associates to contribute to your fundraising efforts, donating to yourself first will prove your commitment to them, and demonstrate your dedication to the cause. $ 200 Ask your family members to donate. Ask four (or more) of your close family members to donate $50 each. $ 400 Ask 16 of your extended family and friends to donate $25 each $ 100 Ask five of your workmates to donate $20 each, or your boss for a company contribution. $ 50 Ask five members of your sports team, community group, church, or other club to donate $10 each $ 200 Run a garage sale at home, or a book sale or bake sale at work (ask your workmates to help out too). $ 1000 Although fundraising for charity can seem daunting, it is so much easier when you break it up into smaller targets! Don t be shy and remember to ask everyone you know for support.

If you re not sure how to get from idea to implementation then we re here to help... Just follow these simple steps to help get you started. Tell everyone, and tell us! Let us know what you re doing, why and when. Send us all the details of your fundraising activities and we ll see how our team can help you spread the word, promote your event or challenge and help you reach your fundraising target. Embarking on a personal challenge? Use your social media channels or start a blog to let your supporters know how your training is going and also your fundraising progress. Having online channels also helps your friends and family share your updates on their networks too! Make a plan Make sure that early on, you set a fundraising goal and develop a clear budget plan to ensure you can keep costs at a minimum. Having a fundraising goal to work with will help you motivate your supporters to get behind you and your efforts. Especially if you let everyone know your progress on a weekly basis. If you re hosting an event, make sure you decide on the details nice and early. Is the location easy to get to? What if the weather is bad? Invite your guests with enough time for them to allocate time in their diaries and make sure they are excited about your event when they arrive. Plan for every eventuality and the event will be a huge success.

Every donation really does count, no matter the size! Say thank you! Take the time to send personalised thank you s to everyone who supported you, whether by giving donations, promoting your fundraising efforts and physically helping you with your event or personal challenge. If you have a clear target it is easier to encourage people to get involved and help you reach it. Get your office involved Check if your company has corporate matching. Timing is everything! Make sure to pick the right time to ask people to support and donate to your cause. If you ask people to donate right after pay day, they might be a little more generous Don t be shy Don t be afraid to ask again, and again! Most of the time, you need to need to ask somebody more than once before they will donate so don t be shy. Remember to give people updates especially in the final weeks (things like just $200 left to raise and together we have reached our goal ) will help you get that last minute surge in donations.
