(Tuesday, 1PM-Craft Room) Tu B Shevat Discussion & Craft Join Carrie to learn about Tu B Shevat, the New Year for Trees, and make bamboo planters! (Wednesday, 1PM-Craft Room) Breakfast & Bowling Join us each week for a game of Wii bowling, coffee and a small bite to eat. Not a bowler? That s ok! Just stop by to say hi and chat with friends. (Tuesday & Thursday each week, 9:30-Cinema Room) Service Project Join us to create hand made cards for Cardz for Kidz! Cardz for Kidz is an organization dedicated to uplifting the spirits of hospitalized and/or traumatized children across the globe by delivering inspiring homemade cards! (Friday, 1PM-Craft Room) Opportunities to Honor and Remember When loved ones pass away, they are no longer with us physically, but they are never really gone. Part of the joy in knowing that person is the ability to keep them alive in memory and spirit. JFCS would like to help celebrate their memory with you. For Senior Center participants donating more than $100, the Center provides an opportunity to create a memorial in the individual s name. These names will be placed on a memorial plaque to be displayed within the Center. Participants can also choose to honor someone in recognition of a special occasion. 4 Activity Highlights What s Happening This Week? Olympic Theme Edible Craft The 2018 Winter Olympics will begin on Friday, so get in the mood with this fun edible craft and Olympic trivia with Zoe! (Tuesday, 1PM-Activity Room) Asian New Year Celebration We are all familiar with the Chinese New Year, but the entire month of February is known as the Lunar New Year for most Asian cultures. Come celebrate with us with cooking demos, food samples and crafts (Wednesday, 10:30-Main Street) Craft with Jen B Have fun stenciling hearts on a canvas tote bags for Valentine s day with Jen B! (Thursday, 1PM-Craft Room) Soothing Balance Join Sumr as you explore your strength and balance with gentle, simple yet effective movements while sitting in a chair! These movements will enhance your focus so you ll feel better and stronger! (Tuesday & Thursday each week, 9:30-Cinema Room) Painting with Nancy Come paint with local, award winning artist, Nancy Price, every Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30. Nancy provides painting project and all of the supplies are included. A variety of mediums are used such as acrylic paints, watercolor, colored pencils and pastels. The classes are fun and relaxed and open to painters of any level, from absolute beginners to advanced students. There is no pressure or judgment, just fun and friendships! Come meet her and hear her story of resilience! She loves to meet people and get (and give) lots of love! (Wednesday, 10:30-Activity Room) Total Wellness Join Lauren for this exercise class that includes a whole body and brain workout at the same time! Work on strengthening health, core strength, mental cognitive abilities and more (Thursday, 11AM-Activity Room) Chat with Rabbi Levi Rabbi Levi Levertov is well known for his good humor and kindness as for his keen mind and interesting presentation.
