More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available. Please keep these dates open until further notice! PLEASE NOTE: All dates and times listed above may be subject to change. Additional events may also be added. Any revisions will be handed out as soon as possible. It is the student s responsibility to notify family members, employers, church group leaders, etc. of the dates listed above AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Any conflicts should be brought to the director (by parental note) for approval no later than TWO WEEKS in advance. In the case of an absence due to illness or emergency, the student should present a written explanation from a parent/guardian on the next day of school attendance. All scheduled rehearsals and performances during the school year are considered to be mandatory and part of the student s grade. Failure to attend these events (without an approved, written excuse) will result in the lowering of the student s letter grade. Any student who misses a required performance may be given an alternate make-up assignment/activity to account for that absence. The opportunity for a makeup assignment will be made at the director s discretion, depending upon the nature and circumstances surrounding the student s absence. Please note that PEP BAND performances, which are a required part of being in band (except for Percussion Methods), are not shown on this calendar. These dates will be made available to the students in November. Weekly rehearsal schedules for extra-curricular ensembles such as Jazz Bands and Pit Orchestra also do not appear on this calendar. Information will be given out to participating students during the school year. WIND SYMPHONY MEMBERS Please take note of the scheduled ORCHESTRA CONCERT DATES (Dec., Feb., and May) on this calendar. Due to the varying wind and percussion requirements of the orchestra literature that is selected each year, we will not know exactly who will be asked to play until that literature has been selected by the orchestra director. Therefore, ALL Wind Symphony members are expected to be available for these performances, even though you may not end up being asked to perform. Please see your director IN ADVANCE if you have any questions or conflicts with these dates! 6
