2 HOUSTON ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION AND GUIDELINES GREATER HOUSTON AREA AWARD AMOUNT -$1, total, $ per semester (Fall 2014, Spring 2015) -Scholarship will be awarded the fall/spring semesters after submission and review. ELIGIBILITY -Student must be a Greater Houston Area Resident -Student must be presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) or attending PVAMU during the Fall 2014 semester. -Student must have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or above. -This Scholarship is for Undergraduate Students only. APPLICATION PROCESS: Due Date: March 31, 2014 Submit the following: -Completed scholarship application -Typed essay explaining why you should be selected as the scholarship recipient, totaling at least 200 words. -An official transcript -Two letters of recommendation 1 P a g e

3 Submit pages 2-4 to: Prairie View A&M University National Alumni Association Attention: Scholarship Committee Houston, TX Postmark by: March 31, 2014 Conditions for accepting the scholarship: The High School award recipients must provide a copy of their final transcript. A copy of the Prairie View A&M University Fee Bill receipt verifying enrollment is required prior to disbursement of award. In order to receive the Spring 2015 disbursement, a copy of an official transcript must be provided, verifying the grade point average requirement was met during the Fall 2014 semester. Upon receipt of the Scholarship Award Letter the addressed recipient must submit an electronic headshot (jpeg or png) along with a brief biography to be displayed on the PVAMU Houston Alumni Association website: and other promotional material. PVAMU NAA Scholarship Mardi Gras will host the Annual Mardi Gras Scholarship Luncheon, February Scholarship recipients are required to attend.
