Loudoun informs Girl Scouts and their leaders of opportunities that are available in Loudoun, Fauquier, and Northern Prince William counties. Many of these opportunities come from within Associations 70 and 90. However, there may be opportunities available by outside vendors and may require Council approval. GSCNC has not inspected these programs or vendors and there are no GSCNC representatives at these events. Goose Creek and Piedmont programs and GSCNC events that have low enrollment may also be listed. Earn Council Hours For Your Silver Award Volunteer Opportunities SHARE Thank You Calls GSCNC staff in Fund Development is hosting a SHARE Thank- Athon on Wednesday, May 15, 6:00-8:30 pm in the DC Office and needs volunteers (girls and adults) to make thank-you calls to SHARE donors. Any girls who are capable of reading a list of names, making calls, and are comfortable on the phone are welcome to participate. Interested girls, troops, and parents can fill out the form SHARE Thank-Athon Registration Help Plan Teen Events LoCAS needs teen Girl Scouts or registered adult volunteers who are interested in assisting with 2013 LoCAS events. Purpose: The panel ensures that Girl Scouts are able to participate in troop activities- no matter their financial situation. Job: As a panel, review Program Grant and Troop Loan applications. Time Commitment: Two hours a month. Location: Meetings are held via Conference Call most months, with 4 in-person meetings a year at the DC Council Office. Date/Time: Third Monday of each month from 7:00 PM 8:30 PM. A light dinner is provided during in-person meetings. The theme is Your Voice Matters and the goal of the conference is to encourage and inspire girls to recognize their abilities, speak out on issues of importance, and become active in their schools and communities. The conference includes activities, workshops, college preparation activities, and inspiring guest speakers. The keynote speaker is Catherine Hogan, government relations and lobbyist with Verizon.
