Our photocopying is part of the same vending system used by non-students. Our student printing system is separate. We do not house the server for our photocopy machines on campus. It is managed through the CopyCard by an outside company. Copy revenue considered petty cash for library supplies Printing income is considered "petty cash" for supplies LeTourneau University Yes - 5 /page (one building) We receive numerous complaints each year due to the fact that computer prints in campus labs is free (actually paid by fees charged to computer tech students) and the library charges for copies. Our Lady of the Lake University Paul Quinn College (one building) Rice University Yes depending on the copy card denomination. Student printing is billed directly to their Owlnet accounts (Central IT manages and collects the revenue). The library receives revenue for public printing. Schreiner University Southern Methodist University Yes - 5 /page B&W; 15 /page color Yes - 10 if using a copy card; 15 if using cash (one campus/site) Southwestern Adventist University (multiple buildings) This is a very good source of income for us, but then we do also have to provide paper and toner etc. We are experimenting with public access scanning machines instead of printing, which will be greener, convenient for the user, but might eat into our income. Our campus IT tracks printing through networked printers across campus, offering a set amount of printed pages per semester with no additional charge. The IT staff raises the limit upon request, and may collect fees. Southwestern Assemblies of God University Southwestern Christian College (one building) Computer lab printing fees are being considered but not in effect this Fall. Southwestern University Yes - Students are given $30 worth of free copies per semester. We charge 7 /page or 8 for double sided copies if students use Pirate Cards. If they use cash, it is 10 and 15. St. Edward's University Yes (multiple campuses/sites) St. Mary's University Yes - 5 /page (multiple buildings) The library is proposing a unified, campus-wide system for one-card use of all printing and photocopying services. 8 FEE TCCJCL Alamo Community College District Yes - 10 /page rthwest Vista - We are just implementing GoPrint and the revenue will supply paper, toner, etc., administered by the IT department. St. Phillip's - We receive the revenue from printing initiated from computers networked to our print system. We do not receive revenue collected from photocopiers in the library. Those are contracted by the college district and the district and contractors share that revenue. The same for printing but the first 4 pages are (one building) free. The printer is located at the circulation desk so it can be monitored. Collin College District Yes (multiple campuses) We currently have to count copies manually and collect the money. This has become a full-time job at the circ. desk and we have brought up the need for a print management system with our administration. The last question needs to also have "none of the above." We have a single vendor who maintains copies for public and public printers...so the first is a charge and the second is not...so it's not a system per se and the system is throughout the buildings...and over the campus, but it's not a "solution" per se. Btw...our printing has gone up 400%+ Student accounts are pre-loaded with $15 worth of printing each semester. Charging for printing has radically cut down the over printing of the students who were just printing indiscriminately. We do still charge late fees (20 ) and for lost books it is cost plus $5 and the fine. College Collin gives each student a $30 printing allotment after they use that amount the print cost is 10 B&W and 25 color. Payment is by TRAC card the same system used for photocopying. Dallas County Community College District Yes -10 /page Yes El Centro College - We're about to implement Pharos software. Vendors seem to be very eager to earn a contract - probably both because of the economy and because it allows them entre to other print/copy contracts with the District. Del Mar College El Paso Community College Page 8

9 FEE Frank Phillips College **FY 2009 DATA** Yes - 5 /page (one building) Galveston College Yes - 10 /page (one campus/site) Grayson College Hill College Yes - $1/SCH $ 95,854 $ 96,000 - replaces other Houston Community College Yes - 10 /page Central - Southwest - (one building) Howard College (one building) Pay for computer printing is supposed to be implemented this year. Jacksonville College Yes Yes -5 /page for computer printouts; 10 /page for copies (one building) Kilgore College Yes - 5 for B&W; 20 for color printing (one building) The library bought the printers, print control system, and paper with funds from a foundation account rather than the college budget. All revenues go into the Friends of the Library fund to pay ongoing maintenance fees and supplies. Lamar State College - Orange Yes - $4/SCH, capped at $30 $ 143,604 $ 13,604 Lamar State College - Port Arthur Yes - $4/SCH $ 160,000 $ 166,000 - Replaces other Laredo Community College (one building) (one building) Lee College Yes - 5 /page (one building) All funds generated by printing goes to our supply budget. 10 FEE Odessa College We have stand-alone photocopiers (10 cents per page for students; 5 cents per page for faculty/staff). There is free printing from the computers, but the campus has been overwhelmed by the number of students printing out their entire online course information. We are investigating alternatives. Panola College Yes - 10 /page Paris Junior College (multiple campuses/sites) San Jacinto College District Yes - 7 /page Yes (multiple campuses/sites) South Plains College Yes - First 10 pages front and back (20 total) are free. Additional pages are 10 /page. (one building) If it is not school work related it is 10 /page from page one. Printing fees are rolled into one of our accounts. Southwest Texas Junior College Yes - 5 /page (one building) Tarrant County College District rtheast & Trinity River: Yes - 10 /page rthwest: (one building) South: Yes - first 10 pages free, then 10 /page Trinity River - printing charges are returned to the library's operating account Temple College Yes - B&W free; Color 25 (one building) Students pay at the Circulation Desk. Texas A&M University-Texarkana & Texarkana College Yes - 10 /page Copier money has been placed in a special account which the library can spend on student related items. Texas State Technical Colleges Waco - Marshall - Yes - I don't know the breakdown but students are Waco: (multiple buildings) allowed 200 pages printing Marshall: (one building) capacity. We do not charge for computer printing; however, paper copiers across campus charge 10 cents per page. Printing/photocopy fees go to General Fund Fees go into our supply account. We are interested in a print management software that would save staff time. Page 10

11 FEE Western Texas College Yes - 10 /page, each student gets $20 to start with. New system this year; it was free previously. (one campus/site) Wharton County Junior College Yes - 10 /page B&W printing, 20 /page color printing (multiple campuses/sites) Page 11
