1 INTRODUCTION On behalf of the Louisiana CCIM Chapter we are pleased to submit the following President s Cup Presentation was a great year for Louisiana CCIM.
2 Executive Summary Overall, 2008 was a record year for 2008: Chapter was a 2007 President s Club winner and a 2008 Chapter of Excellence Membership is at an all time high of 272 members 2008 Chapter budget will be approximately $108,000 Current cash reserves stand at $98,000 Sponsorship stands at a record $20,300 Six luncheons were offered in 2008 and the primary focus was to education membership and recruit new members The chapter encourage participation by hosting a bus tour to feature new development throughout the City of New Orleans (areas effected by Katrina) as well as the annual Golf Tournament. Numerous social events were hosted by the Chapter during the CI classes to provide networking opportunities and recruit new members.
3 Executive Summary The Chapter offered 3 CI Classes with record attendance in each. 4 Advanced Educational classes including REI Wise, STDB and a Negotiations Class were offered. Several networking programs in conjuction wit the CI classes as well as other organization including IREM and CID Baton Rouge were hosted by the Chapter. A Candidate Guidance class was offered to the 13 designees. The Chapter made contributions to several local industry events as well as to the Susan Komen Foundation. Three CI 1010 Scholarships were offered as well as a fully funded endowed scholarship in the name of Barry H. Spizer. A new program was featured as the chapter hosted a Past President s lunch. Several public relations ads were featured in local business trade magaiznes throughout the State of La to recruit new members and encourage candidates to become designees.
4 GOALS FOR 2008 One of our main goals for 2008 was to increase Chapter activity throughout the state. Programs throughout the State of Louisiana Educational. Offer advanced education opportunities state wide Increased Membership Finances Advertisement of CCIM designation via local media Sponsorship Involvement Community Involvement Participation via networking events for existing members, non designees and Past President s Involvement Candidate Guidance and Recruitment of new members Recognition of the Louisiana CCIM Chapter throughout the State

8 Membership The Louisiana CCIM Chapter had its second year of the unified dues billing. Membership from 2007 to 2008 increased by 31 members. In past years the membership listed provided by national had to be closely watched as members were displaced due to hurricane Katrina and some retained their membership in other markets outside of Louisiana.
9 2008 Officers Kick Off the Year The 2008 Officers kick off in Newport Beach, California.
10 Programs and Participation Annual Fall CCIM Symposium. Economic Development theme. Over 100 attendees and 45 CCIM s attended the program
11 Programs and Participation After over 30 years, a new Sheriff was elected into office. It was a monumental moment in Jefferson Parish. Sheriff Newell Normand spoke to the Chapter on his new position as Sheriff.
12 Programs and Participation Over 26 members attended the CCIM Bus Tour. The program featured new developments in areas that were affected by Hurricane Katrina LSU / VA Project Reinventing the Crescent Federal City Project Make it Right Foundation Global Green Project Richard Juge, Richard Stone, Grashopper Mendoza take a break in the lower 9 th ward.
13 Louisiana Chapter participates with IREM in Washington, DC. Topics addressed included the National disaster reinsurance, leasehold improvements and capital gains. Networking
14 Networking Louisiana CCIM Chapter Attends the Hill visit in Washington, D.C. Andy Vancherrie, Hoyt Greer, and Tye Gose with Louisiana Senator David Vitter
15 Networking Richard Juge provides a State of the Industry of the National CCIM Institute. 35 members attended the event.
16 Public Relations The Louisiana Chapter congratulates the new designees for the year. 13 new designees in 2008.
17 Public Relations Louisiana CCIM Chapter participates in Baton Rouge Business Trends. A CI 101 class was provided to 1 of the 500 attendees.
18 Public Relations The Louisiana CCIM Chapter provides $1,000 in sponsorship to the annual Baton Rouge Business Trends. In addition, the chapter provided a CI 101 class to be raffled.
19 Education Louisiana CCIM Chapter focused on providing educational opportunities throughout the state of Louisiana Three CI classes were offered in 2008 which included 101, 102 and 104 A REI Wise Class in Lafayette, Louisiana A Negotiations Class (Mike Lipsey) in Lake Charles, Louisiana A Cultural Diversity Class in New Orleans A STDB Class in Metairie, Louisiana
20 Education and Scholarships During 2008 the chapter awarded three scholarships for the CI 101 class. The recipients were: Melanie Way Latter & Blum Michael Lang Commercial Properties Allison Durso Sealy & Company
21 Education and Scholarships The Louisiana Chapter elected to fund a second fully endowed scholarship. The new scholarship is named Barry H. Spizer, CCIM Scholarship in honor of the 2002 Past National President.

37 CONCLUSION The Louisiana CCIM Chapter submitted the following ad to be featured in the December 2008 issue of City Business to thank the sponsors, designees and the new officers in 2009 The La CCIM Chapter deserves to be Number 1 in its category as we achieved one of the biggest goals.. We connected membership throughout the State of Louisiana by offering educational programs and networking events statewide.
38 Finances The Louisiana CCIM Chapters success was reflected in a record of sponsorship dollars and revenue for FYE The chapter increased membership by 32 new members The golf tournament generated over $8,000 in revenue Sponsorship dollars in 2008 totaled $20,000. Current cash reserves stand at $98,000 FYE 2008 the La Chapter revenue was $130,000. The revenue generated throughout the year allowed the chapter to sponsor local educational classes, host networking events to recruit new members and connect with existing member and to assist in community development projects.
