2 HOLY FAMILY HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATING THE WHOLE PERSON: MIND, SPIRIT, AND BODY WHO WE ARE is a Catholic, Archdiocesan, co-educational, college preparatory high school located in Broomfield, Colorado. was founded by the Sisters of Loretto in 1922 and was originally located in North Denver. moved to its present location in Broomfield in The Broomfield campus is situated on 52 acres and is home to 645 students. The school features 22 classrooms, four science laboratories, a multi-media library, two technology centers, a chapel, and a theater. In addition, Holy Family High School, home of the Tigers, offers 18 different sports programs that compete at the 4A level. is a member of the National Catholic Education Association and is accredited as a college preparatory school by the Colorado State Department of Education and by NCA, a division of AdvancED. has 61 faculty members and over 65% of the faculty hold a Master s or other advanced degree. Students are enrolled from all economic and social backgrounds. Placement test results, middle school grades, and the recommendations of middle school teachers, counselors, and principals are of major importance in the admission process. Over 25% of the students are from minority backgrounds. Approximately 40% of the students receive need based financial aid. Our families are from twenty-eight cities, as far north as Fort Collins, as far south as Lakewood, and as far west as Nederland. Holy Family High School partners with Way to Go, Schoolpool, a free, federally funded program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. The goal of Way to Go is to help reduce traffic congestion and pollution, while providing Holy Family High School families with carpooling options to and from school. Schoolpool provides a FREE service designed to match your family with other families who are within 7.5 miles of your address, who may have similar transportation issues and who you might be able to carpool with. In addition, many parents like to know who lives nearby for a sense of school community, so it is a great resource to meet nearby families for other reasons such as transportation emergencies or baby sitters.

Class fees vary for each grade level and cover grade-specific activities such as testing, student retreats, and student activities. Tuition discounts apply for a second and third child. Tuition for will be set in February of Athletic fees are charged to students who participate in a school sanctioned sport. The fee varies according to the sport. Tuition Assistance Tuition assistance is given to families who apply and qualify based upon an analysis of data that each family submits annually. The Financial Aid process requires that you have your W-2 and your completed previous year s Income Tax Return before you complete your online application for financial aid. Incoming Freshmen may apply online between December 1, January 15, Grades may apply online between February 1, March 31, awarded over $1 million dollars in tuition assistance and scholarships for the school year. Scholarships A limited number of scholarships are awarded to incoming Freshmen yearly. Information on scholarships are distributed to the Catholic grade schools and parishes each December. In addition, several scholarships are awarded through independent sources. Information on scholarship options are located on our website. Apply The deadline to apply to for the school year is December 14, Applications are done online through SchoolAdmin. Assessment forms from a Math and English teacher, a student essay, transcripts from 7th and 8th grade, and the High School Placement Test are all requirements to be considered. The Learning Service Program is designed to maintain the dignity and uniqueness of individuals with learning differences. This program supports students with specific learning disabilities, so they may work toward their academic potential. Students who are intrinsically motivated and committed to improving organizational, self-advocacy, and communication skills, are the most likely to be successful in the program. In order to enter the program, comprehensive psychoeducational assessments may be required.

5 FAITH DEVELOPMENT Affiliation Catholic Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Secondary School 90% of the student body is Catholic Theology Classes Theology courses encourage students to seek to understand their Catholic faith, practice their beliefs, and most importantly, grow closer to Jesus Christ as they mature into young adults. Apostolic Ministry Since all aspects of the religious program of are rooted in the central doctrines and morals of the Catholic faith, the Apostolic Ministry Program provides an opportunity for all students to live out the Gospel mandates of Jesus Christ. Through this program, seeks to instill in its students a sense of service to the community and a genuine, active love of neighbor. Experiences include service with their family, at their current or former schools, within their parish or faith community, and with organizations that work directly with people in need. The Apostolic Ministry Program is required of each student each year and must be approved by the Director of Apostolic Ministry. The projects vary from year to year and have specific guidelines and deadlines. Such information is sent to each family annually and is presented to all students in their Theology class. On-going portions of the project/experiences are presented in their Theology classes. Campus Ministry The Campus Ministry Department seeks to enhance the spiritual nature of the school, provides opportunity for the sacraments, meaningful prayer experiences and services. Prayer is an integral part of our daily experience and every class begins with prayer. Students participate in a monthly All-School Mass, and Class Masses during the school year. In addition, offers mass for our students and families in our beautiful chapel located within the school. The mass schedule is located on our school website. Campus Ministry works collaboratively with the Theology Department to encourage students to grow closer to Jesus Christ as they seek to understand their faith, practice their beliefs, and as they mature into young adults. Retreats are held for every class; Freshmen find God in nature and the Eucharist on the Freshmen Retreat; Sophomores engage in service to others; Juniors go off campus for a three-day intense religious experience called Kairos ; and Seniors retreat with their classmates, reflecting on how Christ is calling each of them to be His disciples. The Campus Ministry Club provides opportunities for students to help plan Advent and Lenten Prayer Services, and participate in Liturgies as Alter Servers and Liturgical Musicians. has a full-time chaplain who will celebrate all liturgies and teach when possible.

6 ATHLETICS Home of the Tigers!, home of the Tigers, is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association. Tigers currently compete at the 4A level and are a member of the Tri-Valley League. has 18 different sports teams. Facilities on campus include the St. Jude Track and Field Complex, Mike G. Gabriel Football Stadium, Keven G. Ritz Baseball Field, the HF softball field, and the school gym. All athletic teams emphasize faith formation, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students are expected to meet academic requirements in order to maintain athletic eligibility. Our Fine Arts staff is dedicated to the goal of accomplishing a well-rounded and complete individual through the practice of art, music, theatre, and crafts. The Theater and Vocal Music Department puts on two full-length shows each year with a fall play and a spring musical. Between students participate in the productions, either on the tech crew or in the play or musical. Anyone may audition. The most recent performances were Macbeth and Beauty and the Beast. The Instrumental Music Department strives to promote leadership, creativity, and a spiritual connection in band, orchestra, guitar, and piano classes. Students are encouraged to learn how to read and perform music with little to no background in the arts. There are multiple concerts each year to show student growth and success.

7 STUDENT LIFE W E L C O M E! Freshmen Families and Tiger Transfers Freshmen Families and Tiger Transfers are programs designed to help incoming Freshmen and Transfer students feel at home here at. Beginning on the first day of registration, Freshmen and Transfer students are grouped into small families including one faculty member with whom they will meet and share fun activities with every month throughout the year. This program helps new students feel at home right away, introduces them to several other new students they can get to know well, and gives them a faculty member to talk to and feel comfortable with from day one. Co-Curricular Activities Community activities are a vital component of the educational experience at Holy Family High School. Mission Trips Each school year, students and faculty participate in Mission Trips in locations such as El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and an Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Mission Club Students help serve at food banks, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and have coat/food drives throughout the year. March for Life Each school year, students and faculty participate in the March For Life in Denver, CO and Washington, DC.
