1 8 th GRADUATION DAY REPORT by Principal, Gojan School of Business & Technology, RedHills, Chennai-52 Date of Convocation: 28 July 2017 Friday Honourable Chairperson, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Chief Guest Mr.Balasubramaniyam Iyer, Vice-President, Reliance Jio Infocomm. Ltd., Mumbai, the Press & Media, most respected parents, graduands, and my fellow colleagues, a warm Good Morning! Gojan School of Business and Technology, under Gojan Educational Trust was started in the year 2005 in memory of the great visionary Shri Gopalakrishnan and Shrimathi JanakiAmmal, father and mother of our Honourable Chairman Dr.G Natarajan. Started with 4 branches and a sanctioned intake of 240 students, today we offer 14 courses- 7 UG courses and 7 PG courses. We possess excellent infrastructure facilities in a 80-acre serene and pollution free campus. It gives me immense pleasure to present the Annual Report of Gojan School of Business and Technology for the academic year The academic year has brought many accomplishments. Notable achievements of our institution are as follows: SL.No. Details 1. Four engineering departments namely Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering were permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Our MBA department is also permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. 2. (1) Many of our students have secured University Ranks in the Anna University Examinations. The Anna University 1st rank in EEE Department was bagged by Ms. M.Pabitha in the year In the year 2016, Ms.D.Rubini has bagged 35th rank in BE Aeronautical Engineering, Ms.R.G.Ramya 39th rank in BE Aeronautical Engineering and Mr.S.Sathya Murthy has bagged 7th rank in ME Engineering Design. (2) 15 students of 2017 batch along with 3 Faculty members from the Department of Mechanical Engineering designed a Hybrid Vehicle and participated in Hybrid Page 1 of 5

2 Vehicle Challenge - HVC 2016 held at Buddh International Circuit in Noida dated February (3) 21 students of 2017 batch along with 3 Faculty members from Mechanical Engineering designed a Golf Cart Vehicle and participated in Ultra Golf Cart Championship 2017 held at Maharishi Maukandeshwar University, Mullwa, Ambala, dated th Match (4) 17 final year students and five 3 rd year students along with 3 Faculty members from Mechanical Engineering designed a Quaud Bike and participated in Quaud Bike Design Challenge 2017 held at Hyderabad dated th July (5) The student from CSE department, R. Kathurshika of third year IT participated in an International Conference and D. Raghavaraj of third year CSE has secured first place in Web Designing by Seek organization. Final year students of CSE and IT have attended many workshops and student development programs. (6) The students of the ECE department, S. Rubitha, B. Aravind Balaji, M. Mohamed Alameen, have presented three technical papers in various International and National Conferences. (7) Students of Mechanical engineering M. Manikandan, R. Senthil kumar, S.P. Agilash, V.R. Gopinath, N. Balaji, M. Balavigneshwaran, C.R. Munisaikiran and P. Sriram of final year have participated in various seminars, conferences, workshops and symposiums. (8) M. Balavigneshwaran of final year mechanical has won 1st prize in ninth national karate and kobudu championship Our student S.P. Agilash and team has won 8th prize in golf cart championship 2017 held at Maharishi Markandeshwar University. Many of the third year mechanical students have participated in QBDC Some of the final year students have participated in Hybrid Vehicle Challenge- HVC and won 14th prize at Buddha International Circuit. (9) The students from the Civil Department Abdul Rashid, Mano and Saranraj of final years have participated in a National Conference. (10) Ashok kumar of final year has secured 1st prize in relay in Anna University Zonal Match. Jegan raj and Suriya Narayanan of third year were part of college cricket team which secured runner up position in Anna University Zonal Match. (11) PG students of EEE,V.SELVAKUMAR,of ME (PED), ANISA BEGUM.P, of ME (PED), DEEPA DEVI.P,of ME (PED),have presented papers in National Conference. Some of the UG students, Ms.Soniya.A, Rajeshwari.D and Raveena.C of third year have presented a paper entitled A NEW SYSTEM TO AVOID VIOLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS. Deepak.G, Rajeesh of second year EEE has won (Second Prize) RUNNER UP in the cricket zone-1 anna university conducted at ANNA UNIVERSITY CEG campus. (12) The students of the MBA department participated in various Conference, workshop, symposium, seminar organized in various Colleges. Remarkably our Student MANIKANDAN. P of 1 st yr MBA won gold medal in the Anna University Inter Zone Best Physique Tournament held at SASURIE Engineering Page 2 of 5

3 College, Coimbatore and also won 4 th place in best Physique All India Inter University Level Championship Held at Chattisgarh, Punjab on January 2k17 and also won Mr. Junior India Gold Medal in the National Level Best Physique Tournament Held at Chattisgarh, Punjab on January 2k We have the state-of-the-art laboratories, computing facilities, library and other infrastructure. We have a wellqualified and experienced staff members with total professional commitment. Department of Aeronautical engineering has a wellequipped R&D set up for Propulsion Laboratory with High Speed Jet Facility. Last year we conducted a Work shop on Jet Propulsion which got the attention of other college students too. 4. As on 2016, we have around 800 universities and 3500 engineering colleges in India and only 30 percentage of colleges are accredited. We have been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC), NewDelhi in the year 2015 for 5 years up to Our institution is certified by ISO for providing educational services in the field of engineering, technology and management studies in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 6. Gojan School of Business and Technology has inaugurated the Centre of Excellence in Embedded and Automation System Design laboratory, through which students acquire a practical exposure on exploring modern embedded applications like cell phones, router, gaming consoles, airplanes, spacecrafts, etc., 7. Gojan in collaboration with CISCO Systems has implemented the CISCO Centre of Excellence. Our students can take up CISCO international certifications CCNA and CCNA Security using our state of the art CISCO Centre. Successful candidates have a brighter chance to get placed in top notch companies within the networking sector. 8. There is an Industry-Institute Interaction Cell at our College. We have conducted many Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, send students for Internships and Projects, Organize Industrial Visits, sign MoUs (presently today we are signing an MoU with Reliance Jio Infocomm. Ltd.,) and also place our students in reputed concerns. Majority of our students have been placed in companies like Wipro, Infosys, HCL, CTS, Real Image Technologies, Southern Electronics, Hanilear Automotive Private Ltd., Young Shin Automotive Pvt., Ltd., Aditya Birla Group, Met Life Insurance, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, ITC Ltd., etc to name a few. 9. Department of Management Studies Achieved 100% result in the year Department of MBA also started offering Shipping & Logistics and Systems Specialization from the Year 2016 and Operations Management from We also give importance to sports. Open Tournament: 1. S. CHANTHINI of ECE 2nd yr won Bronze medal in 800mtrs., in District Level Athletics meet held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sep 3& M. Bala Vigneshwaran of Mech 4thyr won Gold Medal in 9th National level Karate Tournament held at J.J Stadium, Kilpauk on Aug. 14& M. Stadium, Chennai on Feb Our college student won the cricket 3rd price in state level Inter collegiate tournament held at saveetha Engg. College on March Our College cricket team has participated in TDCA district cricket tournament held at stage cricket ground, red hills on October Our student manikandan of MBA 1st yr won 1st place national level body building championship held at chattisgarh, Punjab on Jan Our college students have actively participated in the basket ball, volley ball, table tennis & chess in SA trophy state level inter collegiate tournament men & women from feb Our college student participated in the cricket & volley ball in state level inter collegiate tournament held at saveetha Eng. College on March Our student MANIKANDAN of 1st yr MBA won Mr. Junior India gold medal in the National level best physique tournament held at Chhattisgarh, Punjab. Some of our College Students have participated in various sports events held at Anna university Zone -1 (1) K.MANICKA RAJA of 1ST YR MBA has won gold medal in 100 meters,200 mts and 400 mtrs rely. (2) S. Muthuram of 3rd yr Mech. won the Bronze Medal in 800mts. (3) Joseph. A of 3rd yr Mech. won the Silver Medal in Decathlon. (4) Our student MANIKANDAN of 1st yr MBA won the gold medal in the Anna university inter zone best physique tournament held at Sasurie Engg. College, Coimbatore.2016 (5) Our student Manikandan of 1st yr MBA won 4st place in Best Physique All India Inter University level championship held at chattisgarh, Punjab on Jan (6) The Students of 1st yr MBA Won 2nd place in Zone I Cricket tournament and also secured 3rd place in open state level cricket tournament. (7) M.Mohammed Abubakkar, student of Aeronautical engineering, won first place in 4*400mts Relay in Anna University Zonal Athletic Meet in the year We also encourage our Faculty members to attend Faculty Development Programs (FDP). (1) Mr. L. Suresh Raj, Aeronautical engineering, has participated in an International conference conducted by CII (Confederation Of Indian Industry) on Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing Systems. (2) The faculty members of CSE & IT department have presented papers in various International and National Conferences. Page 4 of 5

5 (3) The Department of ECE organized a National Conference in Recent Trends in Engineering and Technology - NCRTET 17 held on 25th March (4) Mr. R. Raj Mohan, Associate Professor in Department of ECE presented a paper in an International conference on Advances in Functional Materials (ICAFM-2017) organized by Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUT) sponsored by UGC & SIU (Norway) held at Anna University, Chennai from 06/01/2017 to 08/01/2017. This poster is also won best poster Award. (5) The faculty members of the ECE department Mr. R. Raj Mohan, Mr.M. Naveen, M. Pandiyarajan, Mr.V.U. Dharani Kumar has published their Research Papers in Journals. The staff members also have attended various FDP and workshop. (6) The Mechanical department faculty members have participated in FDP. (7) The faculty members of the Civil department, Ms. Sripriya, Mr. Balaji, Mr. Arvind have presented papers on various topics in national conference in various Engineering colleges. (8) Mr. G. Arunsankar, EEE department, has participated in one day National workshop on preparation of research project proposals and patent filing. Some of other staff members of EEE, M.BijoMerlin and E. Thiruvikram, have published international research journal and papers on various titles in Conference and Seminar and also attended workshops. (9) Mr. S. Nagarajan, MBA department has presented a paper entitled Business incubation by Technology towards Techno- Innovation to Tech- Startups; Case Study in the National Conference conducted by Kristu Jayanthi College, Bengaluru, Karnataka. On behalf of our Management, Staff and Student, my prayers to the Almighty for showering his blessings on us throughout. I thank the Management for the continuous support, the Chairperson and the Chairman, for their continuous guidance and support to us in all directions and our Vice-Chairman for his keen interest in our day-to-day activities. I wish to convey and appreciate and grace this remarkable event with their august presence. Finally, I thank the Management, the teaching and nonteaching staff for their cooperation and I seek their continued support in the future.
