Residents must have a CA Columbia Card to enjoy the Second Sunday Swim. Columbia Cards can be obtained at CA's Membership Service Center, located at CA headquarters, Wincopin Circle at no cost. Address verification are required to obtain the free Columbia Card. For more information, call Discounted Admission Rate for Columbia Residents with a Columbia Card: $4 per adult and $2 per child, available at Faulkner Ridge, Jeffers Hill, Macgill's Common, Running Brook and Talbott Springs. Grand opening of new Hobbit s Glen Golf Club clubhouse, COHO Grill Columbia Association (CA) will celebrate the official opening of the new Hobbit s Glen Golf Club Clubhouse and COHO Grill with a grand opening event on Sunday, May 31, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m at the golf club, Willowbottom Drive, off Harpers Farm Road in west Columbia. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will precede the event and is scheduled to take place at 1:15 p.m. This free event is open to the public and will include a tour of the new clubhouse, contests throughout the afternoon, goodies and more. A cash bar will be open throughout. Registration is not required but is encouraged at ColumbiaAssociation.org/Hobbits. Re-Leaf Party - Friday May 29 Transition Howard County is partnering with Columbia Families in Nature to bring families with young children together to learn about native plants. They will hold a Re-Leaf Party on Friday, May 29, 4:30-6:30pm. Experience the possibilities of roads with bike lanes, bio-swales/planters and pedestrian-friendly features. During the demonstration, enjoy fun activities in and around the LPP loop. Kittleman, along with the Long Reach Village Board, has scheduled meetings to seek input from residents about the revitalization of the Long Reach Village Center. Additional sessions will be held from 7-9pm at Stonehouse in the Village Center on May 28, June 11 and September 17. Howard County Government acquired the majority of the Village Center property in October 2014 and purchased the former Safeway site in February The county will develop a revitalization plan, then seek private developers to purchase the center and implement the plan.for more information, visit

Columbia Association News Columbia Association hosting annual KidsDay party at Columbia SportsPark on June 6 KidsDay, the fun, annual welcome-to-summer event designed for kids and hosted by Columbia Association (CA), returns on Saturday, June 6, with a party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Columbia SportsPark. KidsDay is open to the public; there s no need to sign up. Just show up and enjoy a day of super-fun activities at Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harpers Farm Road toward the back of the Harper s Choice Village Center. KidsDay is sponsored by Greenberries. Mini-golf and all-you-can-hit batting cages will be free for all kids ages 13 and younger: those 14 and up can pay $5 for one activity or $7 total for both. There will also be numerous fun offerings available and free to all, including arts and crafts, a moon bounce, Zumba for kids, face painting, animal balloons, dance music, a photo booth, and a variety of games and structured activities. While you and your family are having fun, learn more about CA s great youth programs, classes, camps and special offers. CA s Lakefront Wednesdays Lunchtime Concert Series Columbia Association s (CA) free weekly Lakefront Wednesdays Lunchtime Concert Series begins June 17 with the first of nine performances at Lake Kittamaqundi in Downtown Columbia. Check out our website: The Village in Howard hosts Appraisal Roadshow The Village in Howard will host an Appraisal Roadshow on Saturday, June 6 at 7pm at historic Oliver's Carriage House. This gala fundraiser is open to the public and will provide a professional appraisal by a gemologist and a generalist appraiser. The limit is two items per person. You may enter your item for appraisal at $15 per item or be a spectator for $12. This fundraising event to benefit The Village in Howard will include refreshments.
