Panel Discussion Strategies to Improve the Retention of Our Youth We believe that in any congregation within the Church of Christ, a survey will reveal that our retention rate of young people is alarming, especially with the subpopulation of African American males. We know that the attraction to sin and worldly lust is the root cause of this problem and most problems that cause us to lose our focus on our heavenly goal.(consider rephrasing) The decline in church attendance is not only impacting the Churches of Christ but all faith groups. According to a recent Pew report, an extensive new survey of more than 35,000 U.S. adults finds that the percentages, who say they believe in God, pray daily and regularly go to church or other religious services all have declined in recent years. This decrease in religious beliefs and behavior is largely attributed to the none s, those who say they do not belong to any organized faith. This goliath problem will have major impacts on the effectiveness of the church in the near future. Without compromising any of our values and beliefs, how can we begin to address this matter? What can we do to improve our retention rates of young males between the ages of 18-30? Without compromising any of our value and beliefs, how can we begin to address this matter?
