2 Mission and Partners The 2018 State of the Coast conference strives to provide an interdisciplinary forum to exchange timely and relevant information on the dynamic conditions of Louisiana s coastal communities, environment, and economy and to apply that information to existing and future coastal restoration and protection efforts, policies, and decision-making. The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana (CPRA) teamed up to create the State of the Coast Conference in 2010, establishing it as a biennial event. For State of the Coast 2014, CRCL and CPRA welcomed The Water Institute of the Gulf as a partner, to further establish State of the Coast as the definitive conference centered on the restoration of Louisiana s coast. The partnership between CRCL, CPRA and The Water Institute of the Gulf continues in The Host: Coalition To Restore Coastal Louisiana CRCL is Louisiana s longest-standing statewide organization dedicated to coastal restoration. Founded in 1988, CRCL drives bold, science-based action to rebuild Coastal Louisiana through outreach, restoration and advocacy. With the support of members and volunteers, CRCL advocates strong coastal policies and implements restoration projects across Coastal Louisiana. CRCL s restoration program has restored thousands of acres of degraded wetlands, and has inspired and empowered more than 13,000 volunteers. Our Coast, Our Future Our Partners: The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) is the single Louisiana entity with authority to develop, articulate, implement, and enforce a comprehensive coastal restoration and protection Master Plan of unified vision to reduce hurricane storm surge flood impact, to restore our bountiful natural resources, to build land to protect our nation s critical energy infrastructure, and to secure Louisiana s coast now and for future generations. The Water Institute of the Gulf was founded in 2011 as a not-for-profit, independent research institute dedicated to advancing the understanding of coastal, deltaic, river and water resource systems, both within the Gulf Coast and around the world. Its mission supports the practical application of innovative science and engineering, providing solutions that benefit society. The Water Institute combines in-house expertise with partnerships in academia, NGOs, industry, and government agencies to examine challenges in depth, and help resolve the water related issues of the 21st century.

3 The need for a conference to share ideas and methods of coastal protection and restoration has never been greater for Louisiana. Coastal land loss is one of the most important challenges facing our state - impacting the economy, culture, the safety of our citizens, and the natural integrity of our Sportsman s Paradise. State of the Coast is the largest conference of its kind, focused entirely on issues related to protecting and restoring Louisiana s coast. The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana, and The Water Institute of the Gulf partner to produce this forum, the need for which grows with every acre of land lost to the Gulf of Mexico. Attendance numbers continue to grow - from 678 participants in 2010 to 1,100 participants in Attendees include a diverse group of policy makers, scientists, business and industry leaders, and academics. Over 90% of our survey respondents rated State of the Coast 2016 as Above Average or Outstanding. 10 Frequently Asked Questions 1. How are booths selected? Booth selection will take place on a first-come, first-serve basis in order of sponsorship level. 2. Can I bring additional people to staff my exhibit booth? Yes, but all exhibitor staff must be registered to attend the conference. 3. What does the booth space include? Booths are 10 x10, backed by 8 tall blue/white pipe and drape. They are divided by blue pipe and drape which is 36 high. Each booth comes with a 6 blue draped table and 2 chairs. Any additional amenities must be ordered via the Exhibitor Sponsor Manager or supplied by you. Once you confirm your sponsor/exhibitor status, you will receive an exhibitor packet with more information. 4. What are the logo requirements? Make sure all images are at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution Image dimensions must be at least 5 inches by 5 inches We prefer vector EPS files, but will accept Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,.jpg,.tif, or.png files as long as they meet the criteria stated in the two bullet points above 5. What are the ad specifications? The program will be in portrait format. Full page ad: 7.5 W x 10 H Half page ad: 7.5 W x 4.75 H Quarter page ad: 3.5 W x 4.75 H Minimum 300 dpi resolution 6. What are the print deadlines? The deadline for ads, company description and logos is March 2, SOC will still accept sponsors after this date but we cannot guarantee that your logo will be in all print sponsor benefits for commitments made after this date. 7. What is the cancellation policy? In the event that written notification of intent to cancel is received prior to March 2, 2018, 75% of the total sponsorship level will be refunded.

14 State of the Coast 2018 (SOC18) will feature a Student Engagement Series which seeks to integrate the needs of students as they prepare to transition to the workforce with those of potential employers. The series of 30-minute programs held throughout SOC18 will focus on creating career networking opportunities, including an Ignite Zone in which engineering firms and other organizations describe what they do, how they got to be where they are, and what they are looking for in their future hires. The Student Engagement Series will also provide additional academic and career enrichment workshops through sessions on science communication, resume workshops, interview skills, media relations, interaction with plenary speakers, and social media best practices. Programming is being coordinated by Louisiana Sea Grant with support from the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. The next generation of coastal leaders are looking toward the future.
