Happening this weekend Higher Ground/Courthouse Gallery Art Exhibit Opens Thursday, January 18 - Friday, February 9: You are invited to visit a new art exhibit on display at the Courthouse Art Gallery. It's called Higher Ground showcasing Douglas County's High School art. Viewing is free of charge on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse Art Gallery. The exhibit is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. The show will feature amazing dance, vocal, music, and dramatic performances. The museum depicts the struggles of the American Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Students will also use a scavenger hunt to help them retain the information learned in the tour. This activity, transportation, and lunch is $25 per person

The mill, seen in the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay film, is situated alongside the lovely rapids (up to class IV+) of the creek. This walking tour requires a moderate mile-long hike (total) down to the mill and back. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. $5 plus $5 parking.
