4 Southkent Veterinary Hospital and Zoetis Support Caledonia FFA Southkent Veterinary Hospital and Zoetis have partnered to support the Caledonia FFA through the Zoetis FFA Support Program with a donation of over $1000 to the chapter. A portion of the proceeds of Zoetis products are donated to the FFA chapter in the local communities.by partnering with local veterinarians and animal health suppliers, the Zoetis FFA Support Program has provided more than $6.5 million to local FFA chapters since This contribution has helped put equipment on school farms and in the classroom, helped build new animal agriculture facilities for FFA chapters, fund leadership development events and class projects, secure blue jackets, send members to their first National FFA Convention and more. Zoetis is also the flagship sponsor of NAAE's Communities of Practice, as well as the Animal Science, Small Animal, Veterinary Science and Equine communities as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. As a champion of veterinarians worldwide, Zoetis also sponsored the national Veterinary Science Career Development Event (CDE). This CDE, which was offered as a national contest for the first time in 2012, focuses on small- and large-animal veterinary medicine, training and then testing students knowledge on proper care and handling of animals. An exciting new step for FFA, the CDE is a great way to encourage many FFA members looking to pursue careers in veterinary medicine. Since 1928, FFA has supported aspiring agriculturalists. But FFA is more than a classroom activity. It s a dynamic organization that provides its members with leadership development, career growth and personal success.

12 Colleges Visiting CHS... Just to Meet You! This is a GREAT way for you to check out colleges that you may be interested in. If you like what you hear, then you can go visit them to see if it might be a good fit for you. Take the time now to make a good decision later. Colleges coming soon.... stop in student services to check schedule. (You must sign up in student services to attend a meeting with a college representative.) Upcoming College Rep Visits Juniors & Seniors: Fall is a great time to meet the college reps and gather information about each college you are considering to attend. This year we are implementing a more strict policy to sign up for a college rep visit. We will advertise the dates on our blog, in the announcements, and in Scots Update. It is up to the student to check with their teacher to be sure they can miss the minutes of class to attend the visit. Also, we are requiring that students sign up at least two days in advance of the scheduled visit to alleviate the last minute rush. This will allow us to prepare passes and schedule a room to accommodate the number of students we are expecting. Your cooperation will be appreciated! Be sure to sign up in Student Services TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE in order to have a pass out of class. We will be using Remind 101 this year, so when you sign up, please pick up the flyer with the phone number for that particular visit.
