We Need You-Become a Kalaheo High School Community Council Parent Representative We are seeking a parent representative to serve on the Kalaheo High School Community Council. This is a two year term beginning now through July If you are interested, please go to the Kalaheo High School website at kalaheohigh.org under the Parents tab, click the SCC link for information and application. Nomination forms are submitted electronically. If you have any questions, please contact our PCNC, Christie Leidholm at kalaheohs.pcnc@gmail.com. What is a Kalaheo High School Community Council? What would you do as a parent representative? The School Community Council (SCC) is a partnership between the various role groups of the school community working together to support the educational needs of the students within the community. The SCC is a forum through which members can contribute to improving student achievement and school performance. The SCC consists of Principal, teacher, staff, community parent and student representatives. Members represent their role groups and collaborate to identify needs and make recommendations to their principals on academic and financial matters. Principals, in turn, consult with School Community Councils on a variety of issues that affect student learning. As a parent representative you would provide the parent group perspectives on student achievement and school performance. You would be required to attend monthly meetings, the bi-annual school community forum, and participate in other activities, as needed to engage the school community towards meeting school goals (chair an ad hoc committee, research, present, etc). Please consider joining and making a difference for the students at Kalaheo.
