You can also connect with us on social Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, we have it all. We use social media to showcase all of the exciting happenings around campus, so it s a great way to learn more about our student organizations and events. Check out Fall Fest in September and the Winter Involvement Fair in January to meet members of clubs and find out how you can get involved. Participate in Welcome Week and other signature events throughout the year. Browse the list of student organizations on our website or at the Curry Student Center kiosk. You ll be able to view each organization s OrgSync profile and catch a glimpse of the student organization activities. Look into lending your creative talents to one of Northeastern s many student media outlets contribute an article, host a radio or TV show, or even design a magazine spread. Attend recruitment events or information sessions to learn more about Northeastern s fraternities or sororities. Register for free leadership retreats, seminars, conferences, and skill building sessions. Curry Student Center is the crossroads for community life at Northeastern, serving all members of the University in a celebration of diversity and student life. The Student Center serves as the epicenter of the Northeastern campus; here you ll have the chance to get involved through programs, activities, and leadership. The Curry Student Center offers opportunities for students to relax with friends in afterhours, shop for gifts in the bookstore, study in the Indoor Quad, or catch a meal between classes. 8 Game Room The game room, located on the fourth floor, is a hot spot for student life on campus. Open long hours to accommodate student schedules, the game room is host to digital gaming devices, pool tables, ping pong, and other interactive fun! The game room is free to all Northeastern students, so stop by and check it out today! Programming Lab The Programming Lab, located in 240 Curry Student Center, is a space designed to provide important resources for our student organizations on campus. Groups can use the space to plan programs and events with the CSI Programming Crew, attend workshops designed to train leaders on running successful organizations, host quick meetings with fellow executive board members, or simply relax and visit with the team. The space is open late and on Sundays for your convenience, and should be your first stop for all programming needs. Dance Studios Northeastern has a home for students who enjoy all types of dance. Join one of our performing arts groups, experience a vibrant and diverse group of talented students, and use the dance studios to perfect your craft. afterhours Afterhours is your on-campus night club and café. This is the go-to place on campus for live music, local and national bands and recording artists, DJ s, spoken word artists, comedy, drag shows, film, and much more. 9 Fraternities + Sororities Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) at Northeastern University provides a unique and diverse opportunity for men and women to experience a lifetime bond of brotherhood and sisterhood. The FSL community, with over 2,000 students (and growing!), is vibrant and consistently showcases leadership, scholarship, and service through all endeavors. Chapters exist within four governing councils: Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Our councils and individual chapters offer a space where students can experience safe and healthy educational, social, philanthropic, and academic opportunities. Want to learn more about how you can get involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life at Northeastern? Check out the CSI website for updates regarding information sessions, recruitment, and events. 10 LEAD360 LEAD360 is a collection of programs that provide students with the skills and knowledge to succeed as global leaders. These free programs are open to all undergraduate students and incorporate leadership education, training, and practical application. BLUEPRINT + BLUEPRINT2 First-Year Leadership Programs BLUEPRINT is a group mentoring program designed for first year students who are interested in developing their leadership capacity through 8 weekly interactive sessions. You ll have the chance to make new connections on campus, attend a leadership retreat, and develop an action plan to achieve your leadership goals during your time at Northeastern. BLUEPRINT 2 allows you to put your learning into practice through community service, interactive workshops, and leadership event planning! Leadership Consultants The Leadership Consultants are a group of experienced peer leadership educators who serve as a resource for Northeastern University students and organizations by facilitating free leadership workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, personality styles, time management, and how to run effective meetings. 10 MakeYourMark17_Final.indd 10
11 Women s Leadership Women s Leadership is designed to empower upper-class students who identify as women to further their leadership skills, while critically examining women s issues related to the media, leadership, and global experiences. Join us and learn more about yourself, gender issues, and how to lead. Voices for Social Change This engaging and interactive program brings diverse students together to discuss leadership through the lens of social justice and identity. 14 FUN FACTS The Center for Student Involvement offers 131 event and meeting spaces, including 8 major event spaces for use by student organizations. In the past year, student groups made 16,800 space bookings spanning 41,906 hours for 588,275 attendees. During the academic year, October was the most popular month for events with 3,279 space bookings. Of all undergraduate and graduate students, 22,600 are registered on OrgSync.
