A Message from the General Manager According to St Johns Water Management replacing old toilets with Water Sense labeled toilets could save the average home 13,000 of water per year. A Message from the HRCA Board Did you know that we could eliminate an expense of $26,000 from our annual budget by eliminating just one item that we really don t need? Did you know that by eliminating just that one item it could mean a reduction of $1.81 in your monthly maintenance fee which could help offset a possible increase to meet other budget needs? Did you know that only you can help make that happen? Learn how in next week s bulletin! Page 4 of 5
5 AARP Weekly Health Tip If you have high blood pressure and it is not managed well, it can double or quadruple your risk for stroke. Our nurses are available the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the AARP Health Screening to monitor your blood pressure for you. Come see us OCTOBER 18, 9:30-11 AM. A Safety Committee Tip When leaving the Hawthorne community and driving onto Route 27 from the main entrance, we recommend refraining from turning South (left). We have three other gates that lead onto Route 48 and west to Route 27. The hill to the south hides vehicles coming over the hill which could cause a threat. Vial of Life What is this? It is a handy vial that contains your emergency contact and medical information. This vial can speak for you in the case of an emergency. Fill out the sheet and place back into vial place it in your refrigerator where our EMT s will look if they need it. Keep one in your car while traveling too! Pick up your vial in the clubhouse the container holding vials is located on the cabinet shelf near the ticket table set up.
