1 Virginia Section American Chemical Society Report for the 2016 Chemistry Olympiad Thirteen (13) schools participated with over 250 students nominated to take either the first year or the second year exam. From the 13 schools, 5 schools were put into the small school category with less than 600 student enrollment which included 2 governor s schools while the remaining large schools with enrollments over 600 competed in both the first and second year competitions. Linette Watkins and Thomas DeVore sponsored the National Olympiad exam. No more than two students can participate from each school and each student must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a green card to be eligible for the IChO study camp. Of the following students who were nominated, seven students participated in the National Exam. 3 The students with the three highest scores from all participating schools, separated by category and by test will receive a gift certificate, first place $50, second place $25 and third place $10. Those students who took the National Chemistry Olympiad will also receive a $50 certificate. The school must have at least 7 participants, the highest and lowest scores will be discarded and the average score determined from the remaining scores. Award First Year Exam Second Year Exam James River High Prince Edward County High 2016 Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp Students Named The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad program is proud to announce the 20 finalists who will attend the Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp, May 31-June 15, 2016, at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.
