4 June 2010 Page 4 Lucky Member of the Month Johnny Elliot My journey started when I was born in Fort Worth, TX. At the age of 19 I left for California. Upon arrival in Huntington Beach I started working at Pacific Inspection Company located in Signal Hill in January While most of the work was out of town, in 1978 I relocated to Bakersfield where I have lived except for a few years in the mid 80 s while working in the Geysers. I have two daughters and two grandsons all in Bakersfield. Throughout the years I have been involved with all aspects of inspection on new and used casing, tubing, used drill pipe, BHA s, and down hole tools. In June 1998 Pacific Inspection Company sold to Tuboscope, were I was retained as Sales Manager. In August 2001 I elected to leave Tuboscope and in January 2002 along with partners Guy Elliott and Jerryal Elliott we started Tubular Inspection Company. Since inception we have grown to a full service inspection company for used drill pipe, BHA s and misc. tools. I have been a member of Independent Pipe Inspectors Association ( IPIA ) since their inception in I have made many friends who I am thankful for while working in this great industry, not only in California, but throughout the western United States, Hawaii and over seas.
