Enclosed in this publication, you will find basic information that will hopefully assist you and your team on your trip to Martin and Northwest Tennessee area. This book contains general information about UT Martin Athletics, the city of Martin and the Kathleen & Tom Elam Center. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call, We will be in touch with members of your administration prior to your visit, however we hope this will answer a few basic questions. Sincerely, UT Martin Athletics Welcome to UT Martin Mission Statement The intercollegiate athletics program enhances the total collegiate experience for currently enrolled students and generates interest in UT Martin from various stakeholders by developing competitive teams, academically successful student-athletes, and staff and student-athletes who are involved in the campus and external community. These goals are pursued while stressing the physical, emotional and social well being of student-athletes. All coaches and staff are expected to comply with NCAA and NIRA regulations and principles, especially those related to sportsmanship and ethical conduct. Opportunities for women and minorities are expanded whenever possible. 2

6 Opponent Information Athletic Training The visiting team is responsible for providing proper athletic training personnel for their team s use. UT Martin will provide the use of home athletic trainers upon request. Ambulance service will be made available to transport injured athletes to area hospitals. Field medics are available at the request of the home athletic trainer and the UTM team physician. Film & Video Positions Camera positions are available for game filming on the concourse level. Inclement Weather & Interrupted Game Procedures UT Martin event management will communicate directly with the Head Coach or designated representative from the visiting team to provide updates and information regarding any weather-related situations. UT Martin will adhere to NCAA and OVC policies and procedures regarding any weather-related and/or game procedures. Contact info is Tickets To purchase tickets to any UTM Basketball game, please call Jenny Canary at the Athletic Ticket Office at Visitors and Player Pass Tickets for players and coaches families and other guests should be picked up at Player Pass which is located just inside the doors of the Elam Center. 6

7 Basketball Operations Visiting Team Bus Parking Bus accommodations/parking will be located on Pat Head Summit Drive located directly in front of the Elam Center. Practice Times Practice times will vary due to events within Elam Center and in coordination with men s and women s basketball teams using the arena. The early notification of your travel schedule will improve the chances we will have in accommodating your practice and shoot around wishes. Please contact Coach Brian Haskins in order to set up your practice time at (731) or see page 8. Upon your arrival to your practice session, a student manager will meet you and will be available to fulfill your needs throughout your time within the facility. We will provide balls, towels, game clocks, and water for your practice. Locker Rooms The locker rooms are located in the base floor of the Skyhawk Fieldhouse adjoining the Elam Center. You will be provided the door code upon arrival to ensure security of team/personal belongings. Locker Room Amenities Towels, marker board, markers, soap, drinking water and ice chest will be provided. Team Benches Towels, first-aid kit, water, ice, towels, and cups will also be available on your bench. 7
