5 The Central Texas Conference Center for Mission Support continues to be in contact with our counterparts in our sister conferences regarding the immigration crises. At the current time, there is a need for donations of these specific items: Women s Pants (small sizes) Trash Bags, New Tennis Shoes: Women sizes 6, 6.5 and 7 New Tennis Shoes: Children sizes 2-12 New Women?s Cotton Underwear (sizes 5 and under) New Children s, Cotton Underwear Baby Toiletries (infant to toddler) Toiletries Disposable Diapers Baby Wipes Nido Baby Formula/Powered Milk Hygiene Products (sanitary napkins, no tampons) Small Towels Children s Blankets Small Backpacks Easy Open Snacks Easy Open Juices Rebozos (baby sling/wraps) Reading Glasses Watches Central Texas Conference churches are invited to collect these items and deliver them to Ridglea UMC (6036 Locke Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76116) on July 23 between 3:00-7:00 PM. Ridglea volunteers will assist you in loading the items into transport vehicles and will drive the items to the collection point, the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank in South Texas, on July 24. Please note that all donated items must be new and only those items on the list will be accepted. They must be contained and labeled before being dropped off at Ridglea UMC. If you have questions about the delivery date or items, please contact McKenzie Brown at Ridglea UMC at or intern.ridgleaumc@gmail.com. We are also in communication with the North Texas Conference about needs for the children who are being housed in the facility in Dallas. Because this is a federal facility, there are no opportunities for donations at this time. It is anticipated that there will be a need for foster families in the future. Persons interested in information about the 39-hour training through Catholic Charities required to serve in that capacity should contact Kristen Martin, Volunteer Specialist for Catholic Charities at We will continue to be in communication and will publish needs as they develop.
