1 March 2012 Maine Township MaineStreamers 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, IL Mission Statement To enhance the quality of life for residents 55 years of age and older by providing a broad array of educational programs and recreational activities that encourage socialization, learning and promote independence, self esteem and dignity. Greeting from Mary! We are looking for a few Sunshine Volunteers who help bring wishes to our fellow MaineStreamers who are ill or have experienced a loss. All you have to do is be available to send a greeting card. We will provide the cards and postage. If you are interested please contact us at the MaineStreamers. PATRICK S DAY LUNCHEON Wednesday, March 14 Chateau Ritz, 9100 Milwaukee, Niles Doors Open: 11:00 a.m. Lunch Served: 12:00 noon Cost: $16.00 members/$17.00 guests + $2.50 Fish Celebrate a nostalgic afternoon with The Matt Stedman Band starting with lunch featuring Cream of Asparagus Soup, Corned Beef or Tilapia (Fish Choice), Carrots, Parsley Potatoes, and Lime Sherbet for Dessert. Then the band will play a variety of music including some Irish tunes. Wear your finest green! Bingo will follow! Blood Pressure Screenings sponsored by Resurrection Senior Services. HOOKED ON FISHING KICKOFF PROGRAM Wednesday, March 7 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. No Charge - Join us as we kick off our 2012 season. The season s schedule will be available. Today s program features Jim Tempee from Fish Tech. He will discuss new fishing techniques and products. New participants always welcome! Wanted: MaineStreamers 90 years of age and older If you are one of these special people or if you know of someone, please contact us at so we can send the celebrant an invitation to a special event in May! OPERATION PAPERBACK Operation Paperback is a volunteer project to collect paperback books to be sent in support of our troops overseas and in veterans hospitals. At the March luncheon we will be collecting various types of paperbacks including fantasy, action, history, horror, science fiction, biographies, memoirs, true crime, and autobiographies. NO SEX OR ROMANCE books please. If you are not attending the March luncheon and would like to contribute any books drop them off before March 14 at the Township. FEATS OF FITNESS PROGRAM Wednesday, March 14 9:00 a.m. - Health Program Golf Mill Shopping Center Court No Charge or Registration Needed Chair Aerobics is a fun filled exercise class that incorporates cardiovascular, strengthening, balancing, stretching and breathing exercises. See our own Joann Kitching demonstrate this popular health program!

2 Day Trip Information Rate 1- Easy means usually one stop, some walking and minimal stairs. Rate 2- Somewhat Difficult means that there are at least two stops and sometimes stairs. Rate 3- Difficult means that there are at least two stops and sometimes stairs and moderate to heavy walking. Cancellation Policy When canceling please keep in mind that we need to be able to resell your ticket first. If we are able to resell, a $3.00 cancellation fee will be charged per ticket. If the ticket is not resold, there will be no refund. Guest Policy If the trip indicates that guests are allowed the policy is one per paid member. Special Requests Please limit your request to sit with one person only and indicate this on your registration form. Also, if you need any special assistance, such as wheelchair access, special menu etc...indicate this on the Registration Form. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for each day trip! Both served with House Soup and Petite Crème Brulee. A short ride to the Milwaukee Public Museum will highlight this trip. Upon arrival you will view the Cleopatra s Universe Planetarium Show followed by viewing nearly 150 artifacts from the smallest gold pieces and coins to colossal statues.
