6 Valentine s Dance When: 5:30 7:30 pm Saturday, February 17th in the gym Cost: $5.00 RSVP by Wednesday, February 14th! There will be Bingo in the DT Break Room area, snacks provided and a DJ in the gym to dance with your sweetheart!

7 Opportunity House Athletics Annual Awards Night was held on Friday, November 17th at OH. Athletes received certificates and recognition for their hard work over the past year. The Female and Male Athletes of the Year Awards were presented to Shari Schramer and Michael Sainati. Great job to all of our outstanding athletes! Congratulations, Shari and Michael!

8 Aktion Club had a very busy month of November! Aktion Club sold raffle tickets as part of a fundraiser that supported both Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit to provide meals to children who are starving or malnourished, and our own Aktion Club. The club sold over $1,400 worth of tickets! Members also volunteered at the Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event that took place at the Suter Company in Sycamore during the second weekend of November. Aktion Club also hosted their Annual Turkey Toe Dance on November 18th and collected canned goods that they later donated to the Salvation Army Food Bank in DeKalb. Lastly, members baked eight pies for patrons at Hope Haven to enjoy for their Thanksgiving dinner. The season of giving is upon us, and our club members do so with big smiles on their faces. Good work, Aktion Club!

10 members have kept busy this fall and winter being HELPFUL and KIND to their community (two of the twelve points of the Scout Law). Thursday night volunteered for a shift at the Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event in Sycamore at The Suter Company in early November. members also worked on making toys for the cats at Tails Humane Society in DeKalb. 11 Activity Preview! Train to Chicago & Walk to Macy s Strap on your walking shoes and get ready to head to the Windy City! We will take the train to Ogilvie Station where we will eat lunch before heading to Macy s on State to see the giant Christmas Tree and then to Millennium Park to finish out the day. Train to Chicago For those who still love taking the train into Chicago but don t want to do a lot of walking, we will be offering a second trip into the city where we eat lunch at Ogilvie Station and do some browsing at the shops in the station. Sunday Swim Get out of the cold winter weather and enjoy some relaxing time splashing around at the pool at the YMCA. Cannonball! Girls Afternoon Out: Panera & Debutantes Spend your Saturday afternoon out with the girls and have a yummy lunch before getting manicures at the Debutantes Beauty School in downtown DeKalb. After all, you deserve it! The Junction and Jazz at The Egyptian After we have dinner at The Junction, we will head over to The Egyptian Theater for an evening of Jazz preformed by Sycamore and DeKalb High Schools, NIU Students and Jazz in Progress. Field Museum Trip Explore the Field Museum of Chicago with us on a Sunday afternoon and learn from all different kinds of exhibits! Guys Night Out: Pizza Villa and Star Worlds Arcade Hang with the guys and enjoy pizza and games, what more could a guy want?! Make sure to bring money for both dinner and to play games. Breakfast for Dinner Cooking Class Every now and then, breakfast for dinner just hits the spot. Come cook up some classic breakfast dishes as well as be part of a main dish cook-off.
