We have a New Provost! Our new Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Scott Scarborough, began his new post on September 18, To learn more about our new Provost, watch this video: Fall Break is underway (October 1-2). The university is open, but classes are NOT in session. This is a great time for students to catch up with family, friends, and of course, schoolwork! Homecoming Events are occurring for students over the next two weeks (before and after Fall Break). Homecoming is October 6 against Central Michigan. Week 1: Blue and Gold week; Week #2 is circus-themed, ROCK-et Under the Big Top The Greatest School on Earth! Homecoming events/activities/information can be found here: Saturday, October 6 Annual Edward C. Schmakel Homecoming Parade Judging for cars will begin at 9:00 AM; floats 9:30 AM The route this year is Bancroft to Middlesex, right on Hughes, right on Cheltenham, then back to campus. 11:00 AM

The University of Toledo Department of Theatre & Film Season will feature four plays and two FILM Friday film series. For information and to purchase tickets for the season visit: Spring 2013 Course Registration Encourage your student to meet with his/her academic adviser regarding academic degree progress and spring course registration. Spring course registration will begin at UT for continuing students on October 3. Students are able to register according to their earned hours. Refer your student to this website regarding priority registration dates (when they are able to register): Is your student looking for scholarships for next academic year? Visit the Financial Aid website for scholarships for current/continuing students ( academic year). January - March 2013 is the primetime for students to apply for scholarships as a continuing student! Bookmark this website for future reference: Is your student looking for on-campus employment? All federal work-study positions and on-campus jobs are processed through the Career Services Office. Students can view position openings and apply online through Rocket Jobs. Two new commuter meal plans are available for If your student is NOT living on campus (commuting to UT), encourage them to check out a new option for eating on campus. Block 5: Costs $32 in cash and gives five total meal swipes. Students can purchase a Block 5 meal plan card through the PHIL station located in Rocket Hall (main hallway). This meal plan can be purchased at any time. The card is not tied to one person, however, so a lost card can be used by anyone that finds it. After the card has been used it can be turned in (recycled) for a coupon for a free food item. Commuter 35: This plan costs $380, and offers 35 meal swipes, $10 in Rocket Dollars and $125 in Dining Dollars. It s purchased like a regular meal plan, and left over benefits transfer to the following semester. For more information on these plans, visit familyconnections@utoledo.edu
