Guidry, NRECA Louisiana director. Then Guidry delivers an address to the the 71st Annual Meeting audience. Voting delegates vote on resolutions that were brought forward at fall 2012 Regional Meetings. Resolutions approved at this session guide the activities and principles of the Association going forward. Also, Secretary-Treasurer Mel Coleman reports on the financial status of the Association. This general session includes a speech by Devin Oliver, Youth Leadership Council representative from South Carolina. Oliver introduces his fellow YLC members from across the country. Gill has won more vince gill Country Music Association awards than anyone in history. His album sales top 26 million. He holds the record for the most Grammy awards by a male country artist for his work as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His onstage career started in 1979 with the Pure Prairie League, and in three decades, he has recorded sessions with country music s elites from Roy Acuff to Conway Twitty. Gill is now rediscovering his bluegrass roots that stretch back to his boyhood in Oklahoma. 8 Registration and REGISTRATION POLICY There are three ways to register for the Annual Meeting. 1. ONLINE: Cooperative.com 2. FAX: MAIL: Complete the registration form and return with payment to: NRECA, P.O. Box , Baltimore, MD Visit the Annual Meeting section of Cooperative.com to download the registration form. NOTE: If you fax your registration form, please DO NOT mail the form to NRECA; otherwise, your registration could be duplicated Legal Seminar We re making changes in 2013 starting with the dates! Legal Seminar will not be held in conjunction with the NRECA Annual Meeting in New Orleans. However, it will continue to provide you with the latest and most pertinent information on all electric co-op legal, regulatory and legislative matters. Plan to attend in one of these two great locations: The first seminar, June 6-7, at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, Maryland, (outside of D.C.) will include the Electric Cooperative Bar Association (ECBA) Annual Meeting and Luncheon. The second date is August 20-21, at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District in San Francisco, California. Please note these changes and block the dates on your 2013 calendar. NRECA members can visit Cooperative.com and ECBA members can visit ECBA.coop for more details and updates. All guests will be charged a $50 guest fee, including Spouses and friends of individuals representing a system as a director or employee Children (16 years of age and older) Guest fee includes admittance to all general sessions, educational forums, TechAdvantage Expo, and shuttle service. Complimentary registration is available for Government agency officials and outside news media officially invited by NRECA Children (under 16 years of age) of official registrants Retirees who are former managers, directors or employees of NRECA member systems VOTING DELEGATE CERTIFICATION AND CREDENTIALS Each NRECA voting member will be mailed a packet that includes An Official Voting Delegate Certification form with the names of the voting and alternate delegates Voting instructions Deadline for submitting form The NRECA Voting Delegate Desk will be located in the registration area. A Delegate must register in advance or on site and obtain a badge before receiving voting credentials and a ribbon. Delegates must take the credentials to the NRECA Business Session to vote at the meeting. SUBSTITUTION AND CANCELLATION POLICY Refunds are not available for Annual Meeting registration fees. However, substitutions are accepted. The fee also can be applied as a credit to your system for NRECA conferences or sponsored training programs held within 365 days. The request for credit must be in writing and received at least one business day prior to the start of the Annual Meeting. Requests received after this time will not be eligible for credit. 9 General Information Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Drive The airport is approximately 14 miles from the. Shuttle Service Arrive at your hotel by using Airport Shuttle. New Orleans Airport Shuttle offers a $35 per person round-trip rate which is a discount of $3 per person from the retail rate on all roundtrip tickets booked on line through NRECA s website. Taxi Service Taxis are available outside of baggage claim at the airport. Taxi rates are $3.50 plus $2 per mile (.25 per oneeighth mile) thereafter. There is an additional charge of $1 per passenger after the first passenger. A fixed rate of $33 (one to two people) is charged from the airport to most areas of New Orleans. For parties of more than two, the fare is $14 per person. Getting Around Street Cars Ride through the Crescent City on a national historic landmark that costs $1.25. Street cars have been rumbling along St. Charles Avenue for more than 165 years. Visit dex.html for more information. Pedicabs Pedicabs allow New Orleans visitors and residents a unique way of transport through the city while also being able to appreciate the historic landmarks, city activity, and wonderful views.
