5 Leigh Bakun Milander Class of 1990 Leigh was a three-sport standout throughout her time at Lenape High School, graduating in Through her contributions to the field hockey, track, and softball teams, Leigh set a high standard of accomplishment for future student-athletes to follow. In field hockey she was a team captain and M.V.P. and an All-County selection. In softball Leigh was a three-time team M.V.P. and earned several All-County, All-South Jersey, and All-State honors. She was also selected as the M.V.P. of the Hammonton Invitational Softball Tournament in Based on her collection of athletic accomplishments, Leigh was selected as Lenape High School s Outstanding Student-Athlete in Graduating with eleven varsity letters while serving as team captain for both field hockey and softball, and winning many team and individual awards at Lenape would not have been possible without the incredible support (and sacrifice) of her parents, Dan and Marie Bakun. The many hours spent training and competing on the field as a Lenape Indian prepared Leigh well for her athletic career at Penn State and fueled her life-long passion for sports. Leigh is extremely grateful to her Lenape teammates, coaches, and teachers for their commitment to her success as an outstanding studentathlete. Leigh also says a prayer of thanks to her brother Danny, who has always been her biggest fan and greatest source of inspiration. Rodger Carney Rodger Carney graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mt. Holly, NJ in He continued his education at Keystone Junior College in Pennsylvania and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for four years as an intelligence analyst in the USAF Security Service. The team won seven Burlington County Scholastic League Liberty Division Championships, the first ever in Lenape tennis history. During all 18 seasons the team was ranked in the Top Ten in South Jersey Boys Tennis, one of few teams to be so honored, attaining a high ranking of No. 2 in both 1993 and In both of those years, the team was ranked in the top 10 in the State of New Jersey, reaching No. 6 in During those 18 years dozens of Lenape athletes received recognition as All-Burlington County Scholastic League, All-Burlington County Liberty Division, All-South Jersey Group IV, All-South Jersey, and several were selected as All-State players.
