Noon 10 p.m. Silent Auction Bidding Begins Sullivan Student Center St. Lawrence s Alumni Executive Council will begin offering opportunities to bid on some fantastic prizes which will surely spark your interest and that of your student! All proceeds will benefit student programs with widespread appeal on campus, and will also support ongoing alumni programming which will help your student after graduation! Prizes are located near the Family Weekend Registration tables. Bidding will close at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night bid early and often! 12:15 p.m. Noon in the Chapel: Music for High Holy Days Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 ½ Main Street Featuring Sondra Goldsmith Proctor on organ, join the Laurentian community in this celebrated tradition. 1 3 p.m. Experimental Economics Laboratory Open House Hepburn 16 Visit our new lab, find out what experimental economics is all about, and try your hand in a classic experiment. 2 1 5 p.m. Ancient Tool-Making Workshop Quad (Rain: Event will be cancelled) Want to watch anthropology students learn how to make ancient tools such as arrows and darts? Or perhaps see them throw darts using ancient spear-throwers called atlatls? Stop by the Quad to see Bob Berg of Thunderbird Atlatl as he teaches students the skills used by our ancestors to create and use some of the world s earliest tools. For more information contact Mindy Pitre, mpitre@stlawu.edu 2 p.m. Tour of Sustainability Semester Sustainability House, 1894 State Highway 68 Stop by the Sustainability House (located just 4 miles from the University) for a tour of St. Lawrence s Sustainability Semester. Semester staff and alums will be on site to show visitors the gardens, orchards and farmhouse. The tour will last approximately minutes. The majority of the tour will take place outside; please dress appropriately. To get to the Sustainability House: Turn right off Romoda Drive onto East Main Street. At the first set of lights, turn right on Route 68 (by the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course sign). Follow Route 68 for approximately 3 miles. The Sustainability House will be on your left about half a mile past the yellow blinking light. If you pass Noble Farm you ve gone too far! 3 4 p.m.. 4 9 a.m. Women s Lacrosse Intra-squad Scrimmage Hall Leet Stadium at North Country Field 9 a.m. Waterfall Hike Depart from Brewer Bookstore Join Nature Up North, an environmental education organization based at St. Lawrence, for a guided hike in one of the North Country s most spectacular areas. We will hike the Stone Valley Trail along a dramatic stretch of the Raquette River, featuring cascading falls, deep holes, and overhanging cliffs. Along the way we will pause to admire the fall colors and unique geological features. All ages welcome; sturdy shoes and a rain layer recommended. The hike is approximately three miles round-trip in terrain that is rocky and potentially muddy. The entire trip should take approximately three hours. Transportation is provided but space is limited. 8 Beginning at the famed Western artist Frederic Remington s grave site, this race and mini historical tour will wind through Canton and the St. Lawrence University campus and end at the home in which Remington was born. Walkers begin at 8:45 a.m.; runners start at 9 a.m. Registration available online (Family Weekend webpage) or on-site. Cost is $10 per person. 10 a.m. Worship Service Eben Holden Family Weekend is the ideal time to honor and celebrate the diversity of the human family. This service will celebrate the three Abrahamic faith traditions: Prayers, music, and readings from the Christian, Jewish and Muslim traditions will be offered with a focus on mutual respect and healing. OTHER INFORMATION Alcohol Policy: The Family Weekend Committee reminds parents that St. Lawrence is governed by New York State alcohol consumption laws. The state legal drinking age is 21. The University alcohol policy applies to students, faculty, staff and guests of the University. It prohibits consumption of alcoholic beverages at public events including, but not limited to, films, lectures, athletic contests, and performances. Emergency Contact: To assist our staff, family and friends are encouraged to leave an emergency contact number at Registration in the Sullivan Student Center.

10 Meal Pass: During Family Weekend 2014, registered guests will be provided with a meal pass to use for those meals that were included in the registration fee (Continental Breakfast with President Fox, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Bagel Brunch, Sunday at 11:00 a.m.) along with any meals paid for at Registration. Your St. Lawrence student should use his or her meal card for these meals since they are not included in the Family Weekend registration fee. Parking: Families are invited to park in any of the available University parking lots. Should you drive a self-contained trailer or motor home, parking is available at the Appleton Arena lot and J Parking Lot; however, there are no facilities or hookups. We ask that you park in these areas only. Security and Safety: Please call in an emergency.
