2 Message from the President of West SUGA Dear Western Region SunGard Public Sector Customer, On behalf of the West SUGA Board of Directors and SunGard Public Sector, I would like to welcome you to the 21st Annual Western SUGA Regional Conference. Our Conference will begin on December 5 at 5:00 pm with a reception and early registration and ends on December 8 at 11:45 am. Our surveys have shown that SunGard Public Sector users believe that the regional conferences add value to the SunGard Public Sector customer experience. The International SUGA, Regional SUGAs and SunGard Public Sector have worked hard this past year to improve each of the conferences. SunGard Public Sector will also have many of their staff leading sessions and available for answering your questions. The opportunity to network with other attendees is one of the greatest benefits for attending the conference. It has always been your board s goal to provide training in union with SunGard Public Sector to enhance your knowledge and act as your representative to SunGard Public Sector. We need one thing for this to happen YOU! So please plan on attending the conference this year. I m sure it will be well worth your time and effort. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Seating will be available for up to 20 participants per course. Registration information will be announced soon. General Information General Information General Information Registration Information: Registration fees include all sessions, materials, social events, and meal functions as outlined in the program. Payment must accompany registration forms. Registration forms will not be processed without payment or purchase order and complete information. All checks for purchase orders must be submitted no later than at training registration on-site. You will not receive an invoice for purchase orders. Please use the registration form as your invoice. Host Hotel: Could there be a more inspired setting for our 2011 conference than the Disneyland Hotel? If we are looking for magic, then this is the place! Join us for our 2011 conference at the Wonderful World of Disney while we explore the Wonderful World of West SUGA! Not only is there plenty of room for us to meet and sleep, but we have lots of opportunity for fun and networking, too! The entire Disney Resort will be at our doorstep to explore, including Downtown Disney, Disneyland, and California Adventure all with a wide spectrum of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Plus we will have special convention rate tickets for both Disneyland and California Adventure. Our room rates at the Disneyland Hotel are $149 single/double, plus tax. Parking is now complimentary! Airport Transportation: Disneyland provides airport transportation to and from both John Wayne Airport and LAX for a nominal fee. John Wayne Airport After claiming your baggage, exit the baggage claim area, go to the ground transportation ticket booth to the left and purchase your Disneyland Resort Express Ticket for $27 roundtrip. Board the bus by following the signs. LAX Exit the baggage claim, go to the center island, find the Flyaway & Long Distance Vans area and catch the Disneyland Resort Express there. Ticket is $32 Roundtrip. You do not need to purchase a ticket in advance. Upon arrival at the Hotel, Disney cast members will board the bus and collect your payment for round trip tickets. Cash and credit cards are accepted. You may also purchase tickets in advance for either airport online and receive a $2 discount at graylineanaheim.com. 5 General Information General Information General Information available and operates 24 hours a day. For reservations and more information call 800/ Airport Information: The closest airport to the Disneyland Hotel is John Wayne Airport, also known as Orange County Airport (SNA). It is approximately 14 miles away and a minute ride depending on traffic. (It can be quite longer on any given day). From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), it is approximately 33 miles and without traffic a 36 minute drive. Count on at least a 1-1/2-2 hour commute to the Disneyland Hotel from LAX. Rental Cars: Avis Rent A Car is offering special rates for West SUGA attendees. Please call 800/ for a price quote. Our discount number for West SUGA is J Special Event: Reception Hosted by Solution Providers On Tuesday, December 6, please join us for our Vendor Reception from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm at the Disneyland Hotel. Our reception will feature products to work in conjunction with your SunGard Public Sector software and other vendors of general interest to you and your organization. Come join us for light hors d oeuvres, refreshments with a cash bar and some great prizes, too! Recommended Dress: Dress will be business casual. Please remember that meeting room temperatures will vary. We suggest a sweater or jacket. Reduced Price Disney Tickets Disney has a web site for West SUGAfor reduced park tickets, including Twilight Tickets which are good for after 4pm park entrance. Conference attendees and their guests may purchase reduced price Disneyland and California Adventure. They may only be purchased through this web site: Tickets are valid from 12/1-14, (Pre-conference and post-conference stays are welcome!) The Ticket Store closes at 9PM PST on 11/30/11, so please make your plans early. Please note: Tickets are either for one park only or "park hopper" where you may go to both parks in one (or more) days. Make sure that you know which you are purchasing prior to completing the sale! Special Assistance: We will be happy to assist you with any special needs (e.g., physical, dietary, etc.). Please identify any special needs on your registration form. 6 Membership Information SUGA Membership Benefits: Members of SUGA receive many benefits. Memberships are by organization, but all individuals in the organization receive the benefits of membership, Some of the benefits from membership in SUGA are: Ability to evaluate IDEAS (enhancement suggestions to the SunGard Public Sector products). Reduced conference fees for the Annual SUGA Education Conference for all individuals in a member organization. Opportunity to get involved as a SUGA Board Member, Regional Board Member or participate in other positions that may be available. Organization will have a vote in electing the SUGA and RUG Board of Directors (must be in attendance at the conference to vote.) Access to SUGA Members Only information on the SUGA web site. Ability of any individual in a member organization to participate in the Discussion Groups ( based topic areas for sharing.) SUGA Membership Requirements: Membership in SUGA is open to agencies and subdivisions of state and local government, to agencies of the Federal government, and to other organizations that: Have acquired a license to use current versions of the SunGard Public Sector products on one or more computer systems at said organization. Are participating in the annual maintenance of this software.
