1 PROFILE for Colleges and Universities Founded in 1960, Pingree School is an independent, coeducational day school for grades 9 12 dedicated to fostering critical thinking, discipline of mind, and civic engagement for all students. Located 20 miles north of Boston, Pingree currently draws its 376 students from more than 50 communities. Admission is very competitive and based on school records, SSAT/ISEE testing, teacher recommendations, and an interview. 100% of our graduates go on to attend four-year colleges or universities. Beginning this year, Pingree will move from semesters to trimesters to provide students with more curricular choice.

The course meets during two class periods and offers full credit in both English and History. Students receive one grade. Pingree offers a number of other single and half-credit courses that are either team taught or contributed to by teachers from differing disciplines. 100% day student community from over 50 towns in the Boston area H BLOCK ELECTIVES H Blocks are half-credit electives that allow students to pursue diverse interests and take intellectual risks. Beginning , all H Block electives are pass/fail. SENIOR PROJECTS Seniors spend the year planning a two-week capstone project to explore different interests they may have developed during their time at Pingree. Projects, which happen in May, have included community service, job shadowing, and internships. Over the course of the year seniors work on developing proposals, networking, and presentation skills. 13 average class size HONOR ROLL Honor roll is calculated by trimester using weighted GPAs. (+5 points for AP and honors classes). Students in the top decile of each class earn high honors. Students in the second decile of each class earn honors. Students in the third decile of each class, along with any students with all As of any kind (A-, A, etc.) who are not on the Honor Roll, are placed on the Head of School s List.
