CITIZENS COMMUNICATION: (10:00-2-1:01) 2. January 28, Gary Burns, County Judge Pro Tem, opened the meeting to anyone wishing to address general County business, which was not on the meeting agenda. Chris Marshall, Hospice of South Texas, Campaign Director requested to get on the February 11, 2013, agenda to do a presentation on the capital campaign for the building of an inpatient center in Victoria County. Kenneth Schustereit, a Precinct 2 Citizen, voiced his opinion on an organization called H2O4texas.org, regarding the interconnection with Texas and pipelines on water shipment. He also thanked Commissioner Burns for his efforts in Precinct No. 3. Gary Burns, Judge Pro Tem, awarded Employee of the Year for 2012 to Betty Tovar from the County Clerk s Office, and thanked all the candidates for their services and dedication to Victoria County. January 28, Mr. George Matthews, Elections Administrator, stated that in the near future their office will be moving to the Patti Dodson Health Center for any further elections. Moved by Kevin M. January 28, Mrs. Joyce Dean, Director of Administrative Services, stated that a bid has been received for approximately $140, and they are working with the Auditor s Office to be able to move forward on the project. RECEIVE - HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM AWARD DR TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY BLOOMINGTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT - VICTORIA COUNTY: (10: :24) 15. January 28, Moved by Danny Garcia and seconded by Kevin M. Janak, the Commissioners Court received the notice of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program award in the amount of $1,800,000.00, which is 75% of the overall project cost, for the Bloomington Independent School District Community Safe Room Project.
