It will cover requirements and suggestions concerning gifts, the new statutory requirements for finance directors and for procurement employees, accepting anything that would influence your actions, etc. Presenter: Richard Herring, Attorney At Law 3:55 p.m......ethics Training Part III (Open to Clerks and Staff) The third session will be of interest primarily to those Deputy Clerks and other employees who are required to meet Form 1 annual financial reporting requirements. We'll go over the Form 1 in detail, and as time permits, cover limitations on things like dual employment and doing business with your own agency. Participants will walk away with an appreciation of (1) Why court collections are important for Clerks offices; (2) What it takes to set up an in-house collection program including: getting court partners on board, setting up payment plans, and automation needs (payment plan tracking systems, automatic phone call contact systems, and skip tracing systems); (3) What is the value and cost of an in-house dedicated collection program. There will be presentations made by court collection experts that will include historical collections results, elements of a model collection program, and three in-house Clerk collection programs. The panel will describe three levels of audit and present practical implementation of each level from a small Probate Department perspective as well as a large Inspector General Division perspective. The presentation will include a discussion of the auditor s ethical responsibility as well as common ethical dilemmas and pitfalls. The second part of the session will provide a brief overview of section , Florida Statutes, sale and delivery of firearms, relating to mental health prohibitors, including those areas amended by HB Sample forms that can be modified for use in each Clerk s office will be presented, as well as those questions that have been received during the Florida Department of Law Enforcement s statewide training on the legislation.
