In the second half of the session a store panel will inform and respond to questions from the audience on getting started, effective communication across campus, developing the program to scale. 3 SUNDAY (Continued) 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm Display and Promotion to Improve Store Traffic and Results - Bowdoin College & The Shelburne Museum (GM) Lee Wheeler of the Shelburne Museum and Cindy Breton from Bowdoin College will conduct a lively presentation on discussion on the best practices each store uses to appeal to their unique clientele and drive traffic into the store through creative displays, product mix and promotion. Presenters: Cindy Breton, Associate Director, Bowdoin College Store; Lee Wheeler, Director, Shelburne Museum Store 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm New Models in the Evolution of Course Material Distribution (CM) Representatives from the publishing community will discuss innovative new models that benefit all key stakeholders: students, institutions and stores. Models will include publisher rental, unlimited usage, digital first programs, subscription programs, etc. Vendors will include Cengage, Pearson. Check back as more vendors will be added. Cochran and David Collard, two industry experts will share their thoughts on the key metrics that stores should be constantly working towards and communicating on to plan for the future in help insure survival, trends that administrators value, keeping a good offense. Complementing this, the value of data can give you the ability to plan for your future and develop successful strategies that will positively impact your store and your institution. In this session facilitators will help stores identify key ideas, concepts and trends from the from the NCSA Education sessions that can be used as a basis for your brag book. Then, working in groups, attendees will create an outline that can be used to create a brag book for your campus Presenter: Robin Dziczek, Manager, Clark University Industry Trends and their Impact on Your Campus Store - Higher Education, collegiate retail, and the students we serve are all shifting. This session provides insight into the state of campus store performance, student consumers, and the business of course materials. Based on financial and operational research, Student Watch and Faculty Watch studies, and the monthly Student Panel Surveys all conducted by OnCampus Research this session will give you context and metrics for ensuring your store s operation and services are on track.
