1 Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. Weekly News May 22, 2017 From Isaiah 43:1 School News *Respect Passage of the Week: In addition to promoting our school year theme from Isaiah 43:1 (see above), our teachers are sharing passages on the topic of respect. These passages will be part of the classroom experience and integrated when each teacher shares his/her week of devotions. This week, Mr. Burgess shares 1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. We encourage our RLHS families to continue this discussion at home as we partner to instill respect in our students. Thank you. *Congratulations to our 2017 Prom Court! Pictured: front row L-R Kayla McWhorter, Kayleen Gygax, Queen Lydia Balke, Taylor Milow, and Korin Williams; back row L-R Myles Saldivar, Matthew Lovdahl, King Andrew Price, Caleb Pintor, and Niko Burton (missing Willie Tyler). *Seniors: Please remember to let Mr. Jensen know where to send your final transcript. Even if a senior was accepted into a college or university, they will require a transcript that includes second semester grades to make the acceptance official.
2 *Racine Lutheran High School DOES NOT approve of any type of Senior Skip Day. If students have unexcused absences, they may receive a 0 for classes that they missed. If you are an athlete, this is a reminder that in order to participate in athletic practices and games, a student must be in school ALL DAY. Exceptions can be granted at the discretion of the athletic director. If you, as parents, know a student is going to be absent from school ahead of time and would like to request an exception to this rule, please communicate this to the coach and athletic director prior to the day of absence. Any doctor/dentist/orthodontist appointments that occur between now and the end of the school year will need a note from that medical office in order to have an exception considered. Thank you for your cooperation as we ensure that student-athletes are students first. *THANK YOU to everyone who made out Veterans Project Dedication a wonderful event! Several boxes of food plus a $700 check were donated to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin. *If you did not receive your copy of the Crusader Connection Spring 2017, we have posted an electronic version on our website under School News. Please take a moment to read the exciting news! *The 100 th Anniversary State Capitol Commemorative Commission invites students to take part in an art and essay contest. Submit an essay or piece of art which details or symbolizes the importance of the Capitol building and what it means to Wisconsin.
