PFAU HONORED ON loth YEAR AS CSCSB PRESIDENT President John Pfau was honored last Friday upon his tenth year as President of Gal State, San Bernardino at a luncheon and program held at the Arrowhead Country Club. A group of approximately 50 from the College's administrative staff were on hand to greet the President and Mrs. Pfau. Joining in honoring the president was Dr. Kenneth Phillips, former executive dean on the College's original planning staff. Chancellor Glenn Dumke, who had planned on being present, was unable to attend and sent a recorded congratulatory message. Dr. Pfau was presented with a plaque from the CSCSB Alumni Association, represented by Jim Penman, vice president of the association, in acknowledgement of Dr. Pfau's 10 years as president. A resolution citing the president's contribution to the College during the past decade was read by Joseph Thomas, representing the administrative staff. The College community extends its congratulations to President Pfau on his first 10 years as President of CSCSB. SIXTH ANNUAL COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER NAMED The Sixth Annual Commencement of the College will be held Saturday, June 10,at 8 p.m. in the Gymnasium. Paul Saltman, Provost of U.C., San Diego and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs,will be the speaker. Commencement announcements will be available to seniors for purchase at the Bookstore later this month at 25<: each. Class rings can be ordered now in time for delivery by Commencement. GOVERNOR APPOINTS Frank P. Adams, San Francisco attorney, was appointed to the State College Board of Trustees FOURTH NEW TRUSTEE this week by Governor Reagan, This was the fourth trustee appointment to be made by the governor this month. Mr. Adams will fill the term of the late E. Guy Warren which will expire in March, 1973.

3 DEADLINE FOR FACULTY SENATE NOMINATIONS IS AT NOON TODAY Petitions for nominations for the following Faculty Senate positions are due at noon today in the Faculty Senate office, A-153: State-wide Academic Senator (1 position); R.P.T. Representative at Large (1 position) and Faculty Senate Representativeat-Large (3 positions). AMANDA SUE RUDISILL Amanda Sue Rudisill, Assistant Professor of RECEIVES PH.D. IN DRAMA Drama, has been notified by the Theatre Department of Northwestern University that she has completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in Drama. The degree, effective March 1, 1972, will be officially conferred on June, Dr. Rudisill*s dissertation was on "The Contributions of Eva Le Gallienne, Margaret Webster, Margo Jones and Joan Littlewood to the Establishment of Repertory Theatre in the United States and Great Britain." Brii Khare (Political Science) presented a paper on CIIW "Children's Political Beliefs: Their Sources and Formation" at the Pacific Chapter of the American Assn. for Public Opinion Research 1972 Conference held at Asilomar March 3 5. Saroiam Mankau (Biology) spoke to the Riverside Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary society of women educators, on "Continuing Responsibilities of Women Educators." Edna Steinman (Public Affairs) was recently elected to the Board of the San Gorgonio Girl Scout Council, comprising San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Ronald Taylor (Biology) spoke on "Abortion: Humanitarianism or Murder?"^ at a meeting of the Expression of Womanhood Council of Crestline yesterday. Edward Waggoner (Spanish) spoke on "Carlos Fuentes and the Rejection of Bourgeois Realism" at a meeting of the regional chapter of American i Assn. of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese held in Palm Springs last, Saturday. This was the second talk Mr. Waggoner has delivered to the 1 association. Edward White (English) will play the part of Thomas Cromwell in Bolt s "A Man for All Seasons," in a production by the First Presbyterian Church in San Bernardino on March 17,18 and 25, 26. E.G.P. STUDENTS Students in the Educational Opportunity Program will REGISTER TODAY register for the Spring Quarter today from 1 to 3 p.ra in S-100. Students in class during those hours may register from 3 to 4:30 by going to the Records office and paying their fees at the Bursar's office. 2

The Cafeteria will be open on its regular schedule during finals week. The P.E. facilities(except the pool which is being drained) will be open for use on the following days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Wed., Mar. 15, Thurs., Mar. 16 and Fri., Mar. 17. All facilities will be closed to all College personnel from Saturday, Mar. 18 through Sunday, Mar. 26 because of the Sixteenth Annual Inland Science Fair which will be held at the Gym. * * FINAL EXAMINATIONS Final examinations begin next Monday with classes SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK meeting two hours a day on Monday and Wednesday and at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday,which will take their final exams on Monday, March 13,at their last scheduled meeting. Other final exams will continue on Wednesday, March 15,through Friday, March 17. March 14 is the last day of classes and last day to withdraw. March 17 is officially the end of the Winter Term. Grades are due at 8 a.m. Monday, March 20 in the Records office. INTERNATIONALLY An internationally recognized authority on genetics RENOWNED GENETICS EXPERT TO LECTURE and evolution. Dr. Theodosius Dobzhansky, will be on campus today to speak on "Genetic Diversity and Human Equality" in LC-27 at 3 p.m. Dr. Dobzhansky, a personal friend for many years of Alexander Sokoloff of the CSCSB Biology Department, is recipient of the National Medal of Science from the President of the U.S. and the Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Achievement in Science from the American Museum of Natural History,and countless other awards in the U.S. and abroad. His scientific career has extended over half a century; over 400 papers are listed in his bibliography and over a dozen books. His most famous book. Genetics and the Origin of Species, was one for which he was awarded a medal by the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Dobzhansky comes to CSCSB under the sponsorship of the Biology Department.

CSEA meeting of Mar. 16 has been postponed until Mar. 23, noon, in S-149. The Political Science Department has a department bulletin which lists political science course offerings for Spring, 1972 and Summer, The new bulletin, in addition to giving a resume of classes and required books, gives a biographical statement on political science faculty. The bulletin is available from all members of the political science department. Deadline for students to clear lockers and turn in equipment at the Gym is Tuesday, Mar. 14.
