2 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Board approval is required for the Board s Meeting Minutes Copies of the minutes noted below are attached. to approve the meeting minutes of the regular Board meeting held on October 18, 2011 and the special Board meeting on October 24, 2011.

3 TREASURER S REPORT The monthly Treasurer s Report includes statements of revenue and expenditures and check registers through November 9, The monthly Treasurer s Report includes a synopsis of the monthly Business Committee meeting and the recommendations of the Business Committee including payment of bills and expense reimbursements. Board members have received copies of the financial reports. to approve the revenue and expense report for the period ending November 9, 2011, as recommended by the Business Committee.

5 PRESENTATION OF SITE GOALS PART 2 INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS and OHS SITE GOALS and ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT GOALS Issue: Presentation of Site Goals Information: A summary of last year s Building Goals and the coming year s Site Goals will be presented for the following: Nature Hill Intermediate School Principal Michael O Connor; Associate Principal Ali Hedrick Silver Lake Intermediate School Principal Ellyn Helberg; Associate Principal Terry Donini Oconomowoc High School Principal Joseph Moylan; Associate Principal/Athletic Director Scott Raduka; Associate Principal Emily Mariano and Associate Principal Carolyn Neureuther Information for the above school reports was included in the October Board packet so that Board members would have a complete packet of information for all district schools and departments. 6 APPROVAL OF EARLY GRADUATION REQUESTS Early graduation from Oconomowoc High School requires action by the. The High School staff and administration have recommended approval for seventeen students. A copy of Policy No Early Graduation is provided. Board members may request access to individual information related to each student. This information is available in the Curriculum and Instruction office. To approve early graduation for Jordan Antezak, Kaitlyn Bergren, Andrea Brown, Nikolas Fleischfresser, Thomas Jacobson, Elizabeth Koehler, Courtney Lehrke, Caitlin Mack, Casey Mueller, Jessica Nord, Nicholas Rohrig, Brooke Satterfield, Maggie Schmidt, Cori Thiede, Kyle Venenga, Forrest Waller, Matthew White at semester contingent upon their successful completion of all first semester course work.

7 Review of Phases 1-3 Wide Area Network /Wireless Initiative A Brief Progress Report on Improvements to the District s Technology Infrastructure The attached worksheet shows the progress made thus far on the WAN/Wireless technology initiative. At this point, progress is running ahead of bills received and paid. The I.T. staff provided the percent complete information, which is their best estimate of the progress through November 8, This update is intended to keep the Board informed regarding the project. No action is requested. The I.T. staff will be present to answer any questions. Action: None. FYI. 11/15/2011

8 READING 1: BOARD POLICY SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS Revision of Board Policy Selection of Instructional Materials The ubiquitous nature of technology and its presence in our schools necessitates a review of our current policies governing the selection of instructional materials. The attached revised policy reflects the necessary components to guide OASD staff in the review and selection of instructional materials utilized in our classrooms including print and e-resources. To waive the second reading and to approve Policy #361.1 Selection of Instructional Materials, as presented.

9 READING 1: BOARD POLICY 871 COMPLAINTS ABOUT CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS Revision of Board Policy 871 Complaints About Curriculum and Instructional Materials The revisions in the attached version of Board Policy 871 are necessary to align with the proposed revisions to Board Policy Selection of Instructional Materials. To waive the second reading and to approve Policy #871 Complaints About Curriculum and Instructional Materials, as presented.
