Mrs. Hubbard served the College as Placement Advisor since September, 1969 until last November when she underwent surgery. The flag was lowered to half-staff yesterday in memoriam and will remain so until conclusion of services which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Riverside First Congregational Church. Private inurnment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Riverside. Friends may call at Tillie's Memorial Chapel, San Bernardino, from 2 until 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Ccuicer Society. Mrs. Hubbard, the first to hold the position of CSCSB Placement Advisor, will be long remembered for the warmth and generosity she extended to faculty and staff and to the many students whom she helped obtain employment while undergraduates and as teacher candidates following graduation. She is survived by her husband Col. (Ret.) George M. Hubbaird and and daughter Brigitte of Los Angeles and three brothers. GRADUATING CLASS CHOOSES BLUE FOR ACADEMIC APPAREL The Class of 1973 will march in the commencement processional in blue caps and gowns. Results of a survey conducted by the Senior Class indicated that the majority of the graduating seniors preferred to break tradition and voted to wear dark blue academic regalia. Two graduate students, Liston Caldwell and Susan Orrock, have filed applications to receive the Master of Arts in Elementary Education. OBSERVE GOOD FRIDAY Heretofore, CSUC employees were allowed time off between the hours of 12 noon until 3 p.m. The change in policy this year is the result of a pending Superior Court decision on the legality of granting the paid time off, according to C. Mansel Keene, Vice Chancellor, Employees may be allowed time off by using overtime or vacation time (or leave without pay if necessary). Those who wish to take time off to observe Good Friday on April 20 should make arrangements with their supervisors. NEW FACULTY MEMBERS Two new full-time faculty members joined the ON CAMPUS FOR SPRING CSCSB teaching staff at the beginning of the Spring Quarter; James J. Finley, Professor of Administration, comes to the campus from George Washington U where he taught Public Administration for 10 years. Prior to that he spent many years in responsibile government positions, serving in the United States and overseas. In addition, he was a teacher for the ICAF. Dr. Finley received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from American U, Washington, D.C. in Public Administration. James L. Robinson, Jr., Assistant Professor of Political Science, is a graduate of Cal State, LA and received his M.A. from UCLA. Before coming to San Bernardino he taught political science at Cal State, L.A. Eighteen part-time lecturers were added to the staff for the Spring Quarter, including David Musick,Sociology, a 1969 CSCSB graduate who received his M.A. from UCR in GRADUATE IN One-hundred-and three seniors earned Bachelor WINTER, 1973 CLASS of Arts degrees at the end of the Winter Quarts Graduating with highest honors was Roberta Carolyn Smith, Biology major. James Deffenbaugh, Anthropology; Margaret Garland, History; Pamela W. Trevathan, Administration and F. Kay Shuman, Administration graduated with High Honors. Ten of the Winter graduates earned Honors: Thomas E. Contri, Sr., Arvita Crabtree, David w. Crandall, Cheryl DeMong, Elizabeth Elder, Elizabeth J. Gorman, Lynn D. Horn, Ronald J. Kent, Kenneth L. Miller, and Michael J. Weddington.

4 THREE CSCSB FACULTY MEMBERS CHOSEN AS OUTSTANDING EDUCATORS Joseph Labat, Asst. Prof, French; Cherie Choate, Asst. Prof., Math and Edward Carlson, Asst. Prof., Administration and Director, Management Center were chosen Outstanding Educators of America for They were selected on the basis of their professional and civic achievements. Outstanding Educators of America is an annual awards program honoring distinguished men and women for their exceptional service, achievements and leadership in the field of education. Those chosen are featured in the national awards volume. Outstanding Educators of America. CSEA MEMBERS PICK NOMINEES FOR BALLOT The local chapter of CSEA has selected the following members as nominees for office for : President - Sharon Ward (Incumbent) and Fred Cordova ; Vice president - Peggy Ratliff, Ray Mendez, Carolyn Perkins; Secretary - Corinne Schnur (Incumbent);Jeanne Rudloff; Treasurer - Sue Boynton (Incumbent), Al Blair; Faculty Representative - Kent Monroe, Walt Oliver. Tony Britto will appear on the ballot as candidate for the office of Assistant Regional Director. FOLK ROCK CONCERT FRATTTRKS THREE GREAT ROCK GROUPS... COMING NEXT THURSDAY... A folk rock concert will rock the Gym next Thursday, April 19, when The Hendersons, Nathan-Elaine and Chevy, all perform in a program ranging from mellow folk to fairly hard driving rock. The performance begins at 9 p.m. and continues until midnight. The Hendersons will open with a variety of folk songs, followed by the four-piece Nathan-Elaine, a recording group^ hard driving rock group. Chevy.
